Carol Vorderman would be an interesting choice if she wants to come back as a presenter.

Carol Vorderman would be an interesting choice if she wants to come back as a presenter. I think there would be too much rivalry on the Maths questions.

Colin Murray is taking over, at least until November which means he will be in the chair for the 40th anniversary. Judging by his tweet, he's hoping it will be for a good deal longer than that.
Good news!

I regularly listen to him on Radio 5 Live between 10pm-1am Mon-Thu (I normally turn the radio off c. 11:15pm-ish to get sleep) and he does a great job on that. He was always good presenting the snooker on Eurosport too.

Not something i usually watch to be honest but i've caught bits over the years and seen clips of the naughty swear word moments like the infamous "w******" Richard Whiteley was the best ever host though, sad that he was taken early.

Did I read he was doing 75 shows or something for now? Strange to give a temp role to Colin but still 3.5 months of someone who's a genuine fan of the show.
Wonder who else the Countdown bosses have got their eye on?

Yes, he's only contracted until November at the moment. However, he has given the impression that he would like to get the job permanently. It looks like they have gone for someone available while they take time deciding whether to keep him on or go for somebody else.

I think her last show is some time this month. I can't wait!

15th July is her last day, and agreed not my favourite presenter by a mile.

I actually prefer her to the last guy from The Apprentice at least she engages with contestants ok she can be annoying and her questions can be so bad but at least you learn more about them.
Hopefully Colin will be the best of both worlds

I wouldn't call it engaging at all. She always sounds so hostile, sneering about their job or where they come from or demanding to know why they aren't married.

Hopefully Colin will be the best of both worlds I don't mind the questions to the contestants, in fact it's refreshing when she is asking questions when she first joined than the Nick Hewer approach of moving the show along as quickly as possible.
When Colin covered for Nick, he showed genuine interest all around whereas with Anne - she'll sometimes ask a good question, then give a sarcastic response and then 90% of the time a sarcastic question after.
1.5 weeks left to endure!

I guess the problem she has is that that is what made her popular in the first place on the Weakest Link. The world has moved on since then and become far more 'woke' which is never going to be an environment she'll thrive in.

She just didn't demonstrate anything vaguely resembling human warmth.

Wokeness has had a clearcut impact on what is deemed acceptable, less acceptable and unacceptable with regards to how people speak to one another, as far as I can see it anyway.

It’s not like Anne’s unpopularity on Countdown can’t be a multi-faceted issue.
