My predictable vote for ABBA, despite 66th place for "The Name Of The Game" in my ABBA songs ranking.

One of Queen's greatest ever songs, my #1 of that year, against an Abba song that nearly got them into a sing-off when otherwise they were cruising through every round until they went out in the semi-final.
Name Of The Game did reach NM #5
Of course "We Are The Champions" had "We Will Rock You" on its B-side, and is often considered a double A-side. In my chart the latter reached #3 on its own.
Doesn't really surprise me though, Queen are not that popular on here, and whilst I should have done better I was never going to win HF2 with them.

Are we going to have Wuthering Heights vs Denis? I know which one wins for you.

I'm one of the few Queen fans here and I wouldn't call 'We Are The Champions' one of their greatest ever songs by any stretch. That said, I did vote for it here because, as I said, I have a lot of affection for it.

In September 1990 we got the one from the most closest battles for # 1. For two consecutive weeks Deee-Lite single "Groove Is In The Heart" was stopped at # 2 by Steve Miller Band with their "The Joker".

They're both great but I do think 'The Joker' is the better song.

Difficult one for me, the Joker is a good song, it actually reacned NM #1 - it kept "I Love You Love Me Love" by Gary Glitter off the top - that gives you a clear indication of when it was NM #1. Groove Is In The Heart was thus 17 years later and peaked at NM #3.
I may have to abstain on this one it's too difficult.

From 4 votings three were open for two full days. Only one round was longer, because Sunday is "dead day" on any forum.

It's September 1998 and a battle between pure pop and britpop, when Manic Street Preachers beat Steps hit and got their first # 1 single in UK.
Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
Steps - One For Sorrow
