I don't know if I've been living in a hole or something but after what - to me - was a slow start for rock and indie this year, the past couple of weeks have been insane. Just a few of the new releases I've been enjoying: The Aces - I've Loved You For So Long Beach Fossils - Bunny Bully - Lucky For You Foo Fighters - But Here We Are Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Council Skies Protomartyr - Formal Growth In The Desert Dream Wife - Social Lubrication Superbloom - Life's a Blur Squid - O Monolith Jenny Lewis - Joy’all Heavenward - Pyrophonics Queens Of The Stone Age - In Times New Roman Royal Thunder - Rebuilding The Mountain Sigur Rós - Átta Some great new metal as well especially King Gizzard but for the first time in about 6 months I'm actually listening to more rock and indie

I am making a real effort this year with albums since I joined Rate Your Music, so I have heard all those apart from
On My list
Queens Of The Stone Age - In Times New Roman Heavenward - Pyrophonics
Not on my list (will add)
Protomartyr - Formal Growth In The Desert Royal Thunder - Rebuilding The Mountain
Of the ones I have heard, 2 of those are in my top 10 of the year so far and 3 in the top 20. I expect QOTSA and Heavenward to join them.
Only one I don't like is Squid, they were weird before but now they have gone full Radiohead too much for me now.

Squid is probably not going to make my June top 10 but it's a really interesting record; I think it needs more listens to fully appreciate and am not sure I'm going to get around to spinning it again.
Royal Thunder I would recommend if you like Mysterines, I get a similar vibe from them. And yes, you will love Heavenward I'm sure.

I'll check those out as well.
Next couple of weeks look to be a bit calmer but we also have Skating Polling, Grian Chatten (Fontaines DC), The Skids and a certain little-known band called Nothing But Thieves due to release before the end of the month...
