Ok let’s go with the first 10, I can't do these too fast as I need to finish 1991 yet.
100 The Human League - Romantic
Sixth album reached #24 in the UK, known for the single "Heart Like a Wheel"
99 Bloomsday - Fortuny
A side project or supergroup, made up of members of The Bathers and The Commotions. Debut album from the Scottish band, the song 'Strange Honey' got some radio play.
98 The Soup Dragons - Lovegod
Second album from the Scottish indie band, now they have gone baggy/Madchester known for "I'm Free", reached #7 in the UK.
97 Stereo MC's - Supernatural
Second album from the UK hip hop group. Highlights "Lost in Music" and "Elevate My Mind"
96 The Mission - Carved in Sand
Their third album and their last decent one. Highlight the big hit "Butterfly on a Wheel". The record reached #7 in the UK and #101 in the US.

Claps Hands several times.
Well you are certainly not messing around, did you do/start all this listening research during the Covid Lockdown?

95 Neil Young + Crazy Horse - Ragged Glory
His 18th album, which reached #15 in the UK and #31 in the US.
94 Pop Will Eat Itself - Cure for Sanity
The third album from the UK grebo rock band. The big songs "X Y & Zee", "Touched by the Hand of Cicciolina" and "92°F (The 3rd Degree)". Reached #33 in the UK.
93 The High - Somewhere Soon
Debut album from the baggy, indie pop band from Manchester, best known for the hit 'Box Set Go'. The record reached #58 in the UK.
92 Deee-Lite - World Clique
The debut album from the US dance act, most famous of course for "Groove Is in the Heart" which reached #2 in the UK. The album peaked #14 in the UK and #20 in the US.
91 John Farnham - Chain Reaction
Successfully through his cancer treatment this week, we have the 14th album from the Australian singer. It was of course a number record in that country. Big song "That's Freedom".
All the above are 3.5/5s

Claps Hands several times. Well you are certainly not messing around, did you do/start all this listening research during the Covid Lockdown? It is constant and for the first year ever new music is taking a back seat for me, I first started this around October last year. Working from home helps a lot I just needed a project to keep me away from social media and news. I was doing game shows before this , that's how bad it was.

Actually this isn't working for me, I like the one post per entry and the talking about it, it's what helps use up my time. May revise when I come back from hols.

90 The Breeders - POD
After pretty much playing all new music while I was on holiday, back to this and we are going one post again. We start with the debut album from the all women supergroup made up of Kim Deal, Tanya Donelly who need no introduction and Britt Walford from Slint and Josephine Wiggs from The Perfect Disaster, the only Brit in the US group, well apart from Britt Anyway not the biggest fan of this record and it is becuase it is the man again Steve Albini but for one of his records where he is producer it is more listenable than most. Although I much prefer the self produced follow-album. It is good just not one I will spin very much. The record reached #22 in the UK. 3.5/5

89 Wendy & Lisa - Eroica
The third and last album for a very long time from the ex members of The Revolution. A few minor hits in the UK but the album failed to be much of a success outside that country, this album did not chart in the US at all, which is very surprising as overall I think it is a slightly better album than their previous one. The record reached #33 in the UK. 3.5/5

88 The Chills - Submarine Bells
Although a very successful band in their native New Zealand, they are pretty much considered a one hit wonder elsewhere and that one 'hit' was more of a radio or MTV hit than a chart one. 'Heavenly Pop Hit' was maybe a couple of years too early, as it would have fitted in better in the charts when such acts as Crash Test Dummies and Bare Naked Ladies could even get hits. But when I play it now, it has that very XTC feel of early Brit Pop and the singer even looks like he could be in Oasis. So maybe a better comparison would be The Las. So the second album from the indie pop band, their first on a major reached #1 in New Zealand. 3.5/5

87 The Beautiful South - Choke
Their second album and although I would say they excel most as a singles band, 'Carry Me On Up The Charts' is one of the best compilations of the 90s but this record would in my opinion be their strongest studio effort. Although what do I do, talk about the singles "A Little Time" and "My Book" are exceptional, the thing is even from The Housemnartins this is the first of their records I can play all the way through without skipping something that annoys me. The worst track, 'Lips' is thankfully very short. Another big hit for them, reaching #2 in the UK. 3.5/5

86 George Michael - Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1
His 2nd album was very hard to place for me, it was a battle of quality vs would I listen to it and this album is undeniably quality. It just that most of it is not me, it is mostly too smooth and classy but songs like "Praying for Time" or "Heal the Pain", I would never switch off just I would not choose to hear them. The best song for me predictably now but it always has been my favourite George single is "Freedom! '90". It is so 1990, it just brings me back to the Chambers St Union which was where all the metal and rock fans hung out and had their club nights and yet this was always on the video jukebox... oh that video hang on The record reached #1 in the UK and #2 in the US and sold over 8 million worldwide 3.5/5 for me but 4/5 for the music.

85 Hothouse Flowers - Home
Second album on this list so far I bought at the time, the other was Bloomsday. This was their second album and it is mostly boosted by the singles "Give It Up" it probably their 2nd best song and their cover of "I Can See Clearly Now" is superb. There is nothing earth-shattering here though, just very competent folk rock and it's a record you can just stick on and let it wash over you. A bigger hot than I knew, the record reached #5 in the UK and #122 in the US. 3.5/5

84 Jon Bon Jovi - Blaze of Glory - Young Guns II
His first solo album and also a soundtrack album to the fun but very cheesy Young Guns II. It is basically a collection of sub par copies of 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' apart from the lead single which is as hood as anything Bon Jovi have released, 'Blaze Of Glory'. So yes they are mostly generic but it is a good generic and in 1990 at this point, I was quite happy hearing him sing anything. The record was a huge hit of course, reaching #2 in the UK and #3 in the US selling 3 million there. 3.5/5

83 Extreme - II Pornograffitti
Their first appearance on the list, I skipped their debut as it looked completely cringe, it maybe isn't as bad as that cover but I would be shocked if it isn't. This album though was much better than I expected, I had only heard the singles which are the best songs especially 'Hole Hearted', if they had stuck in that direction, they could have kept up with the changes in rock about to happen, although they did of course carry on through it all. I really expected some really awful stuff so it was a bit of a shock that I enjoyed almost every track, although most have gone out of my memory already a month later. The record was a huge hit thanks to the worldwide hit single 'More Than Words' and reached #10 in the US and #12 in the UK, it sold over 2 million in the US. a high 3.5/5

82 Cinderella - Heartbreak StationStaying in the hard rock arena we have their third album. This was the last one I knew but they have one more to come in 1994 so may check it out. A slight change of sound again, this time with a more Aerosmith like sound which is usually a good thing. It is a solid listen but again very little stays with you, another record that will have little impact on you but will pass the time if you want a bit of 90s classic rock. The record reached #19 in the US and #36 in the UK. 3.5/5

81 Goo Goo Dolls - Hold Me Up
The first appearance on the list for one of my all-time favourite bands but I did not discover them for many years after this one. Quite a few early fans of the band jumped off at this point as they started to leave their punkier Replacements style behind them. But I will argue it never goes away, if you listen to just about any of their future albums bar maybe the two previous to their current one, they will always throw in some of those heavier songs. Honestly though this is still a very punky album, ok more on the pop punk side. We do though have the first John Rzeznik track that really shows where the band will go that is 'You Know What I Mean' best song on the album and the ballad 'Kevin's Song'. So it is a bit hit-and-miss, but the 90s albums from now on are all awesome 4 star + records. This was their third album, I never reviewed the debut and it failed to chart 3.5/5

80 No Sweat - No Sweat
Completing a very rocking batch, we have the debut and only album from the Irish rock band. These guys really deserved to be huge, some great singles including their Irish char topper "Heart and Soul". Very similar to the band FM, it is AOR meets hard rock. Very sad that a great vocalist like Paul Quinn just disappeared completely, This album is very hard to find and not on streaming services as well. 3.5/5

79 The Darling Buds - Crawdaddy
Their second album and it is still quite similar to their debut although they have moved on with their sound to incorporate more baggy and electronic sounds. Nothing on here is as great as the debut but some fine singles and a solid album again, most of these are just that, not setting the world alight but enjoyable. Best track is the single "Crystal Clear" which is one of the most 1990 songs on the list, even the video looks like titles of 'The Word' and those baggy beats and guitars that sound like C86, grebo and shoegaze all rolled into one. The record sadly failed to chart though. 3.5/5

78 The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker
Now a band that couldn't be more different, the debut album from the blues rock band from Georgia. They have put out many records but I will be surprised if any match this debut. The singles are all so great and they were timeless then and are still timeless now, "Twice As Hard", "Hard to Handle" and my favourite "Jealous Again". I am not usually a fan of throwback music but Black Crowes just do it so well. The record reached #4 in the US and #36 in the UK. It sold over 6 million in the US. 3.5/5

77 The Lightning Seeds - Cloudcuckooland
The debut album from the indie pop and future Brit Pop band. This record was pretty much a solo project and I think like many people I thought he was going to be a one hit wonder with the brilliant 'Pure' but as we know they are still going strong with dozens of hits. Saying that the two singles are by far the best things here. It is all very pleasant and well-made but most of it is quite forgettable. I still like it a lot though, it reached #46 in the US and #50 in the UK. The US they are pretty much one hit wonders, this was their only hit album and only one other single broke the Hot 100. 3.5/5
