A reminder of a couple of principles that I wish to keep:-
1. Maximum 8 rounds.
2. The quality of songs to get better and better as the competition progresses.
These two guidelines have shaped how the contest will proceed.

Round 1:
Single elimination via a sing-off. 18 acts will automatically progress to Round 2. The bottom 2 will be in a sing-off, from which one will be eliminated.
Round 2, Round 3, Round 4 and Round 5:
These will all be double elimination. The bottom four acts in each round will go into a sing-off, with two progressing and two eliminated. Everyone will have two votes in the sing-off.
Quarter Final, Semi Final:
Triple elimination, no sing-off.
In the QF we start with 11 acts. The bottom 3 points scorers will be eliminated.
In the SF we start with 8 acts. The bottom 3 points scorers will be eliminated.
Final:
5 acts in the Final. One song per act. Finishing positions will be determined by the points scored.
In the event of ties in the sing-offs, finishing position in that round will determine who stays and who goes.
In the event of ties in the points scoring rounds, finishing position in the previous round will determine who goes through and who is eliminated or placed in the sing-off.

Gulp! Round 1, fine, but then ...
Four double eliminations, each with four acts in the sing off
Two triple eliminations with no sing offs
Five acts in the final ~ not that I need worry about the final because I'll be lucky to survive the first few rounds!
Good luck, everyone!

This is interesting, we have seen a trend in recent HF of people selecting an act with a huge song or two and saving them to blow everyone out of the water in the two toughest rounds as a winning formula but, this time there are 4 tough rounds and 3 impossible rounds lol, so people will have of think of a new strategy which i like

We have 9 nationalities represented. I'm not going to list them, because one or two might be a bit too revealing.

Genre analysis is always a little tricky. But I'd say we have a slight bias towards rock over pop, but it isn't huge.
What we don't have is any genre outliers. No genres which have been proven unpopular at Haven. So, no country & western, no reggae, no rap or grime, nothing really folky, no jazz, no classical.
Within the rock umbrella we have a huge range of styles.

The earliest record released by any of these artists was in 1957.
But 16 of the 20 have released new material since 2020. So in this respect, Haven Factor Express looks a bit like Haven Factor for Havenvision Acts.

If I look at the artists' commercial peak we have:-
1 in the 1950s 0 in the 1960s 1 in the 1970s 3 in the 1980s 1 in the 1990s 3 in the 2000s 10 in the 2010s 1 in the 2020s

You will be well aware that one of the entry rules required artists to have 3 or fewer "well known" songs. One of the definitions of "well known" was that a song had a silver BPI certificate.
Across the 20 acts, there are 6 silver certificates in total.

The other "well known single" definition was that it had been a Top 75 hit.
Across the 20 acts they have 23 hit singles.
Four acts have the maximum permitted 3 hits. Five acts have 2 hits. One act has one hit. And ten acts have no hit singles to their name.
Of the 23 hits, we will potentially see 14 Top 40 singles, of which 7 made the Top 10.

These 20 acts have released 107 studio albums between them.
The busiest act has 17 studio albums to their name. The least productive has just one. But that act has released quite a few EPs.

Of those 106 studio albums, 26 have registered in the UK charts. 15 of those made the Top 40, of which 5 are Top 10 LPs.
