I always think of today as 'Papa was a rolling stone' day. Are there any other songs which mention specific dates?
Obviously Christmas day, but any others?

Sheryl Crow mentions November 1963 in her song 'Run baby run'. She says it's the date Aldous Huxley died - and I've just checked that was November 22nd, so that's another to add to the list.

May 9th is mentioned in "My Red Book" by the Beautiful South because it was Paul Heaton's birthday (and is also Gamliel's and Julieta's)

And my father had the same birthday as Martin Luther King. But neither in the same year.

Convoy by CW McCall "It was a darker moon on the 6th of June" or something like that. and the GB version mentions 6th of May "it was a foggy day on the 6th of May" (I had to listen to it to remember which day)
Summer The First Time by Bobby Goldsboro mentions the last day in June (30th)

The 3rd of June is the date mentioned in Bobbie Gentry's classic 'Ode to Billie Joe'.
I know I said about Christmas, but Everything but the girl should be mentioned as the song is actually called '25th December'.
Amy Macdonald has one too, called '4th of July'.

“This song is dedicated to Yetunde Price The sister of Venus and Serena Williams Who was slain during a gang shootout in Compton Sunday, September 14th, 2003: rest in peace”
Dreams by The Game - brilliant track, big hit, you never hear it now, when I get round to it I’ll add it to the Nearly Forgotten Hits thread too 🙂

That reminds me of another tragic song: "Illume 9-11" by Fleetwood Mac - written and sung by Stevie Nicks.

If you excluding songs where the date is the title such as:
Alison Moyet - April 10th Bee Gees - First Of May Finn Brothers - Last Day In June Aimee Mann - 4th Of July
etc ....
Then ...
Katy Perry - Fireworks (references 4th of July) Earth Wind & Fire - September ("21st night of September") - 18 days to go. Taylor Swift - Last Kiss (references 9th of July) John Lennon - Remember (The fifth Of November)

You can have songs where the date is in the title.
Even 'New Years Day' by U2, I suppose.

More Taylor Swift - in Endgame, Ed Sheeran sings "After the storm, something was born on the fourth of July", and she also has a New Year's Day song title.

“On the Fourth of July 1806” - Pogues and The Dubliners, Irish Rover. Bonus points for specifying which year too?
Funny, lots of songs go with that date. Independence Day, obviously, but I can’t see any particular reason for that being the date they set sail from the sweet cove of Cork.
