Here we are then! ;D
Bananarama – Only Your Love
I’m actually not very familiar with their music! But what a GREAT pop song to start the CD with! ;D An up tempo with a very catchy chorus there..
SClub – Love Aint Gonna Wait
You can tell this is a Sclub track from the first few moments – it has that classic ‘sclub’ feel about it! They managed to produce tracks like this that appeal right across the board, which is quite a challenge!
BTW I think Reach is fab it’s one of those songs that EVERYONE dances too! ;D
Sash! Featuring Shannon – Move Mania
One of the few songs that I knew fairly well before receiving the CD! It’s one that always gets me ‘jigging’ about! A really good dance track!
Grace – Not Over Yet
Can you believe I had NO idea who sung this song?! I didn’t even recognise it when I read the tracklisting! Obviously that changed when I played the song
The Source featuring Candi Staton – You Got The Love
“Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
Sometimes I feel like saying Lord, I just don't care"
The story of my life!
I don’t really remember the original, but I know and like the remix well!
Kylie Minougue - Tightrope
I’m a little biased when it comes to Kylie anyway, what with her being my first ever non obsessional obsession ;D ;D I think this song would have made a really really good single, it’s a great pop song with a really catchy chorus – typical of Ms Minougue really! ;D
The Corrs – Little Wing
I don’t care what David says – I quite like The Corrs too!. ;D The Chieftans feature on this making it a real good chill out song. Originally done by Jimi Hendrix* (*courtesy of Google.com)
Sinead Quinn – Ready To Run
What a BEAUTIFUL song! One of my favourite tracks from the first listening. Lovely, sweet lyrics. A real tear jerker, especially when you know the meaning behind the song. Very much a ‘Heena’ song.
Enrique Iglesias – California Callin
I used to really like Enrique – but I was a little disappointed by his recent singles. I love ‘Hero’ – I think it’s a rally nice song! ;D This is a good song, would have made a better single than “Addicted” (is that his latest single??)
I can understand why some people fancy him though
Alex Lloyd – Green
This song really caught my ear! ;D You’re right, I had never heard of him before. The singing style reminds me of someone, but I can’t quite put my finger on it… I really like it though! Must have sounded AMAZING live! A five STAR rating ;D
The Verve – So Sister
Richard Ashcroft/The Verve have a very distinctive sound. Shame they had to split up , Richard never really made it on his own. Again this is another song with good lyrics! It was a B-side to Sonnet?? I think it’s better than Sonnet!
3 Colours Red – Beautiful Day
This song builds up, which is really. Better than the U2 song of the same name (although I do love U2 too ;D). Again this is another band who’s music I’m not familiar with – but I quite like this track! ;D
Placebo – Every You Every Me
I wouldn’t have really thought that I would like stuff by Placebo – but this song is pretty good. It’s got quite a different sound to it, but is strangely addictive. I actually remember it in Cruel Intentions! ;D
a-ha – Summer Moved On
The only a-ha song that I think I know is “Take On Me” – and that’s only because it was covered by A1.
It took a few listens before I ‘got into’ this song. It’s not bad. I should find out more about them!
Madonna – Time Stood Still
I don’t actually own any Madonna albums can you believe! This is a really nice song. Very calming and WAY better than American Pie! ;D
Natalie Imbruglia – Beauty On The Fire
Torn was an excellent song and a real smash hit, it was always going to be hard for her to follow that up. She had a couple of good singles after it, but nothing really lived up to it. I like her voice a lot. And like Kylie I think she has managed to distance herself from the ‘Neighbours’ image she had.
This is a very catchy song and if it had been released, I think it would have done better than some of her singles did…
Will Young – From Now On
Ah now Mr Young – he can do NO wrong in my eyes! ;D I think he has a really great unique voice – and this song shows that off really well! This is the first time I’ve heard this track, it’s very uplifting and FAB, but then I would say that …….
Cyndi Lauper – True Colours
A real timeless classic song. I never get bored of listening to this one! I don’t know a lot of Cyndi’s music really, but I always associate this song with her…
Belinda Carlisle – My Heart Goes Out To You
I actually saw Belinda Carlisle live once . It was at a concert in Hyde Park I think it was (well before Party In The Park was around) I remember my friend wanting to leave early to avoid the crowd but I made her stay so we could see Belinda! ;D It was around the time ‘In Too Deep’ was released.
Really sweet lyrics to this song “You know I feel so bad, to see you hurt so bad, but angels spread their wings over everything” Very deep and meaningful!
Overall it's a GREAT album! ;D You've obviously got my musical tastes worked out THANK YOU! ;D
