What's the difference? Wav. files are much bigger, right?

yes, .wav files tend to be a lot bigger... .mp3s are compressed. better quality too (or at least, the same quality with a much smaller file size). pretty much no-one uses .wav for music anymore (well at least they SHOULDN'T ). though it's still quite commonplace to find short sound clips in .wav format
