"Wet's Do It Again" Greatest Hits & More UK Tour

Pop sensations WET WET WET today announced that the band have reformed and
confirmed plans for their first UK and Irish tour in December 2004. The
band will play the Hallam FM Arena for the first time since August 1997 on
Sunday 5th December. Tickets go on sale on Friday 9th July 2004 at 9am
priced £37.50, £27.50 & £25 (booking fee may apply).
The four band members; Marti Pellow (Lead Vocals),Tommy Cunningham (Drums)
Neil Mitchell (Keyboards) and Graeme Clark (Bass) decided to reform after a
seven year absence from recording and touring.
WET WET WET unveiled their "Wet's Do It Again" - Greatest Hits & More Tour
at a London press conference and also confirmed plans to release a "Greatest
Hits" CD and DVD in November ahead of the tour which will also feature two
brand new songs. The band are currently in the studio writing and recording
new material which will be included on their "Greatest Hits" CD and DVD to
be released on Mercury Records. The bands first single together in seven
years will also be released in November ahead of the album.
WET WET WET had a meteoric rise to fame and success from humble beginnings.
Renowned for their brilliant soulful ballads, perfectly hand crafted songs
and exceptional live performances, the WET'S went on to sell in excess of 15
million records, enjoying 3 No 1 Hit records; "With A Little Help From My
Friends", "Goodnight Girl" and "Love Is All Around" from the film Four
Weddings And A Funeral which spent a staggering 15 weeks at the No1
position. The band also notched up an impressive 25 Top 40 records and their
seven studio albums have been certified no less than 18 times Platinum by
the BPI. Their combined singles and albums spent 537 weeks on the charts.
At the peak of their fame the Wet's took part in the "Nelson Mandela"
Freedom concert at Wembley Stadium in 1998, the following year they
performed a free concert for 75,000 fans at Glasgow Green and sold out
Glasgow's Celtic Park in 1995. The band also broke box office records after
performing 10 sell out nights at Glasgow's SECC.
