Added Blackburn to the UEFA Cup spots, as there'll be an extra one as a result of Man U winning the Carling Cup.

Nice to see that you predicted our promtion before most Reading fans Mr H! Tho most neutrals would have said the same, I mean us fans have been used to failure when it comes to the big prize in spectacular fashion God I cant wait to put that behind me #yippee#

I wish it would end today.
As a Chelsea fan I have a bad feeling about this season. They were lucky to scrape through against Newcastle last night in the Cup.
All I can think about is Devon Loch in the 1956 Grand National.

Chelsea won the Carling Cup last season, which meant the Premiership got an extra UEFA place, which was followed by another when Arsenal and Man U reached the FA Cup final. As a result, Middlesbrough qualified for Europe by finishing 7th in the Premiership. Don't forget Liverpool were supposed to be in the UEFA Cup this season before they were allowed to defend their Champions League crown. They weren't replaced in the UEFA Cup though, so England only started with 2 teams in the competition this season.

But 5th and 6th go to the UEFA cup anyway so you get one for Arsenal winning the FA cup which means 7th place got one, there isn't one for the Carling cup!

And if the runner-up of the FA Cup final gets in it then why aren't Wigan as they were runner up to utd in the Carling Cup final? Because the carling cup only offers entry for WINNERS.

It's always been like that. If the Carling Cup winners qualify for Europe another way, then the UEFA Cup spot goes to the Premiership.

I find it bizarre that in scotland, you have the teams in 2-4 playing off, so 3rd plays 4th, and the winner plays the 2nd place team, and THEN the winner plays the team in the relegation spot above them. So if you finish 4th, you have to play FIVE games to be promoted if they are 2 legged ties, which I assume they are? Maybe not? Come on Berwick, automatic promotion lads!
