Middlesbrough full-back Abel Xavier has been suspended from all competitions by FIFA after failing a drug test.
He gave a positive sample after Middlesbrough's UEFA Cup game against Xanthi.

why was he in italy? and who for? He was at Roma during the second half of last season and left during the summer. He signed with Boro as a free agent, just before the transfer window closed.

Awww, and he has such great hair too. I think his hair has probably been the highlight of recent Boro performances, it will be missed.

lets see what the second sample says before we condem him to the burning pits of hell lads, no one even knows what he took, if he even took anything at all Second samples aren't actually second samples at all. They're the same sample, just tested again and 99 times out of 100, produce the same result.

How long is he suspended for? Indefinitely, at the moment. What happens next will depend on a number of things but apparently, Uefa guidelines recommend a ban of 12 months for a first offence.
