Saw an interview with Jimmy White on Sky Sports earlier. He says he plans to play for another 10 years, or at least until he wins the world championship! As long as Steve Davis is still in the top 16, there's no reason for someone like Jimmy to stop playing. I can't see him ever winning the World Championship, though.

Tomorrow sees the final of the latest Pontin's International Open Series event.
It's a series for players not on the Main Tour and the top 8 at the end of the season are promoted to the Main Tour for next season.
The final is between Chris Melling from Keighley and Paul S Davison from Pickering. Both are former Main Tour players. Melling was on the Main Tour 2 years ago, whilst Davison was on the Tour last season but lost his place after failing to qualify for a single tournament.
Whoever wins, they will be the 5th different winner in this season's 5 PIOS tournaments.
Coming into the tournament, this was the top 8 in the rankings: 1. Mark Joyce 2. Ian Preece 3. Martin Gould 4. Tian Pengfei 5. Liu Song 6. Colm Gilcreest 7. Michael Wild 8. Jamie Jones --------------------- 9. Chris Melling 13. Paul Davison
Another player in the series is Reanne Evans, the world's top female player (of those still playing snooker), though she hasn't reached the later stages of any of the PIOS tournaments yet.
In January, the PIOS players will begin their bid to qualify for the World Championship. Last year, Lee Spick was the last remaining non-Main Tour left in the tournament. He reached the penultimate qualifying round, having won 7 matches, including victories over Main Tour players Ding Junhui and Bjorn Haneveer. Spick went on to qualify for this season's Main Tour.

Yes, it's the semi-finals and final of the Premier League this weekend.
Stephen Hendry has won the first semi-final, beating Ding Junhui 5-2. Ronnie O'Sullivan is playing Steve Davis in the second semi.
The final is tomorrow.
The UK Championship starts on Monday. All the matches are being played over two sessions, so the first round will take a while to complete, which explains why BBC's TV coverage doesn't start until next Saturday.
