Paul Addison does the Boro games. They've done commentary along with Century for the last few years but nearly everyone listened to Century. Now Radio Cleveland (or BBC Tees as it's soon to be renamed) have an exclusive deal...

Today's papers report that Birmingham could be lining up a £10m bid for Yakubu.
I wouldn't take it as we could possibly get more from someone else and I don't think we should sell to a team likely to be in the relegation battle.

If it's true they can have him but it sounds like b****cks. £6m for a 34-year-old? Darlington 0-2 Middlesbrough Both goals came from young striker Tom Craddock. Team: Knight, Hines, Bates, Pogatetz, Bennett, Morrison, Cattermole, Arca, Downing, Craddock, Euell Bates went off injured early on. A bit worrying as he's only just returning from a serious knee injury.

Next friendly away at Hibs today. Would be a nice one to win. It could be the first proper sign of where we are in terms of being ready for the new season. Hibs beat Bolton 3-0 on Wednesday so it won't be easy.

Penultimate pre-season friendly against Carlisle tonight.
One piece of Boro news today: James Morrison has pledged his international future to Scotland. Despite being born in England (Darlington), and having played for England at U-19 level, he is eligible to play for Scotland through his grandparents.
Seems like a good move. He'll have a pretty good chance of making the Scotland squad, especially as it seems Alex McLeish is the person who persuaded him to switch. Another ex-Boro youngster, Robbie Stockdale, won a few Scotland caps under Berti Vogts.
