boro and fulham and wigan are looking down the barrel At least one of those will stay up, you're forgetting about Derby But it doesn't look comfortable for any of them, nor Sunderland or Brum yet. ive a feeling derby fulham and wigan will go down

2 poor results and just when we looked to have turned a corner.
Concentration seems to be the biggest issue at the moment, rather than lack of ability. In 3 of our last 4 games, we've conceded a goal in the 90th minute and in our last 2 games, we've conceded in the last minute of each half. It's annoying but it's something that can be fixed.
I'd be happy to get anything from the Portsmouth game on Saturday. Then we have Everton, who are red hot at the moment, at home on New Year's Day...

Interesting transfer news at Boro at the moment.
Stewart Downing's been linked with a move to Spurs all month, with the possibility of a Spurs player coming to Boro (maybe Robinson or Defoe) as part of the deal. However, it now looks like it will be Woodgate going to White Hart Lane, with Boro set to make a profit on him after paying Real Madrid £7m.
That could finance Boro's move for Brazilian striker Afonso Alves from Heerenveen. We were after him in the summer but couldn't agree a deal. This time, we had a bid accepted but AZ Alkmaar then claimed they had a pre-contract agreement with him. The Dutch FA ruled this week that there was no such agreement and the player was free to talk to other clubs.
Whatever happens, I think we could see some big names move on before the start of next season. Woodgate looks like he's going now (he was good last season but his injury problems have returned this season and his form has suffered), Downing will probably be on his way in the summer, Boateng will probably go in the summer, if not sooner and Schwarzer is out of contract at the end of the season. The good thing is we have ready-made replacements for all of them except Schwarzer, in the shape of David Wheater, Adam Johnson and Lee Cattermole. It's likely we'll be looking to sign a keeper in the summer. Paul Robinson seems an obvious choice, though he wouldn't really be an upgrade on Schwarzer. A move for Carlo Cudicini or Ben Foster would be worth a try...

Probably not, but it's worth a go... a move for defoe might be a good idea you could do with a hitman. No need if we get Alves. I've never rated Defoe particularly highly, though he's better than what we already have...

Tuncay's a decent player, though most people will have only taken notice of him because of his miss against Blackburn last week. He did win Goal Of The Month though...

I was reading Boro's fans views on 606. I can't understand why they're so upset with losing an injury-prone player for a profit when you have Wheater, Huth, Pogatetz, Bates, Davies & Riggot. I know some of them play full-back occasionally but it's the one area of the squad you could get away with selling someone...

I see your point, though we sold Davies earlier this month and the others, apart from Wheater, have had just as many injury problems as Woodgate this season.

To be fair, you're selling potentially your best centre half, so I guess the fans dont like that? Personally I think he was scared of facing the Mansfield Town powder puff attack tomorow!

Sky had said Woodgate was in talks with Spurs.
If he does come back to Newcastle I just hope his time isn't blighted by injury as it was last time around. he was such a good player but just couldn't stay injury free.
As i was typing this Boro have just scored! I was about to click on "Post reply" when I heard "1-0!"

It seems Woodgate has turned down Spurs and is now talking to Newcastle after Boro accepted their offer (which I believe is slightly less than Tottenham's).

boro fans will be estactic with woodgates choice Not really bothered. It was different with Viduka because he only went there for the money.

I wish you all the best in the rest of the FA Cup, be nice if you went on and won it, like the last time to beat us in the 4th Round, Wimbledon I do think Huth is a nasty piece of work though!
