Now I liked Huddersfield's ground, good cup atmosphere as well, and they lost 3-4, so an amazing game, not been to Stockport, what's it like shireblogger? Very old-fashioned, and hence one I quite like. It is located behind rows of terraced houses. It has two proper stands. The away end is an uncovered terrace with seats bolted onto the concrete. The fourth side was empty, although it looks fit for use for any really big games. The police control centre is a portacabin; away end catering was a burger-caravan. Grounds like this get condemned each year. I hope one of them gets a preservation order, so that people like me can revel in the nostalgia of 70's and 80's football before so many grounds were made safe, comfortable and hygienic.

Just been to Preston and Norwich in the last week, saw Everton win both games 3-0 and 4-2, nice grounds as well. Hoping to do Tranmere in Ocober, and maybe Wigan and Hull more sooner than that.

Not many but ....
The County Ground (Swindon Town - my hometown even though I've seen them just 5/6 times) Anfield (Liverpool - about 10 to a dozen times, although I did not see them between 1989-99; and have not seen them since 2003 in the flesh) Goodison Park (Everton - once ... Merseyside derby when Gazza played over Xmas/New Year .... vile windy/wet conditions) Old Trafford (Manchester United - once playing Liverpool ... thank you Danny Murphy) Hillsborough (FA Cup Semi Final v Cloughie's Nottingham Forest - yes that one, thankfully we got tickets for the Forest end and stayed there)
I've been to other Football venues but for non Football reasons ... usually concerts.

Just added the Pirelli Stadium (Burton Albion) to my list - that's 57 now. Interestingly, for a new ground, one side and both ends are terraced. Despite this, its quite well appointed, and appropriate for an up-and-coming club.
The match itself (vs Oxford Utd) was a dire 0-0 draw. I can't see either side rising above mid-table obscurity this season, based on today's showing.

And yesterday, my 58th - Chesterfield's new home at the b2net Stadium. Embarrassing name, nice ground.
Andy won't like this, but credit to the Spireites supporters for creating a great atmosphere at their new stadium, right from the start. The noisey element have all congregated together behind the goal in the north stand, and, with the help of occasional drumming, really got the place rocking - from my experience, quite unusual as fans get used to their new place of worship.
My only wish is that new stadia had architects involved as well as structural engineers. Whilst the new grounds are far more comfortable, have better sightlines, better toilets & catering, and are much safer, they usually lack distinctive features. The best I could come up with for Chesterfield was the fact that they have a local company doing all the hot food and drinks, rather than handing over the franchise to an American fast food corporation.

How about how many teams you've seen play?
I've managed 12 current Premier League teams, 10 in the Championship, 3 League One, 1 League Two, 2 Conference (Wimbledon and York), and one who are now in the Isthmian Division 1 North (Grays Athletic), as well as a smattering of foreign teams - Shakhtar Donetsk will be added to the list next month.
26 current league teams isn't too bad, right?

I'll have to think about that one Frag, with watching the Stags over the years, I'd expect I've seen more like 50, then add in the 25 or so league grounds I've seen, and I should have pretty high figures. I shall check and get back to you. Shireblogger has been to loads of grounds, so he must have about seen all the teams...

Current league teams I've seen play:
Manchester United Blackpool Birmingham Blackburn* Bolton* Wolves* West Ham* Everton
QPR Cardiff Ipswich Norwich Millwall Burnley* Reading Coventry Leeds Middlesbrough Sheffield United Nottingham Forest Crystal Palace Derby Preston
Huddersfield Peterborough Oldham Sheffield Wednesday Notts County Swindon Plymouth Bristol Rovers* Yeovil Walsall Hartlepool Southampton Tranmere
Port Vale Rotherham Burton Albion* Crewe Northampton Bradford
42 in total, just over half. Quite good I think.
There may have been more that I don't remember, I know I've definitely seen all of the above though. Ones marked with a * were not watching a Forest match.

Not bad, with only 25 teams missing you stand a decent chance of completing the set (assuming you mean 67/92 league teams, I'm not going to bother counting but it looks about right). Non-English teams I've seen (off the top of my head) Scottish: Celtic (twice), Rangers Welsh: Cardiff (not in the foreign count as they're in the English league system) French: Lyon, PSG Italian: AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan Spanish: Real Madrid, Villareal German: Hamburg Dutch: AZ Alkmaar Turkish: Fenerbahçe 12 in total, with a 13th to come. So Shakhtar will bring the total to 42. Plus two Aussie Rules teams. I'd like to complete the set of PL teams, but Utd and Liverpool will be tricky ones as they're Category A and hence something like £70 for the seats I usually get. West Ham also missing, I was planning on going this season as that game isn't Category A any more, but it's the same weekend as a frisbee tournament so they'll have to wait another season (unless we get them in a cup). WBA are also one of the ones missing. This morning I was thinking I should have gone, but having seen the score*, probably better I didn't as I'd probably have broken my hand in frustration! That, or given Coco Almunia the punch in the face he deserves. * - when I can't watch the game live, I avoid the score until the game's finished, otherwise I won't be able to do anything else.
