Arsene Whinger has complained that teams try to kick Arsenal off the pitch. Would this be the same Arsenal that tried to kick Man U off the pitch in the second half last week? The words pot, kettle and black come to mind.

I have to say after seeing his post match interview he's reminded me why I will never more than 'like' Arsenal. Not until he goes anyway...
Fantastic manager? Yes. Prize tit? Yes.

Rooney has scored to put Man Utd 1-0 up. The legend Steve Stone is 5 Live's summariser on the game! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/rJkVIIEHuaszVDhOsQtH.gif)

Birmingham are 1 up but regardless of the result its been overshadowed by the injury ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/xKFbNBMdczwHHIvwbxXw.gif) It's true. There's no way the Arsenal players can focus properly on the game after seeing that happen to one of their team-mates. In non-league football, it would've been abandoned. Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw the incident - how did that game continue? (The TV thing isn't an argument - the rematch would have been an absolutely crucial game, and so would have almost certainly been shown live.)

I don't really see why it should be abandoned. It happens, not often but it's not that uncommon, and they never get abandoned so I don't see why this should be treated any differently? The only time you ever see games abandoned is when a player collapses and their life is in danger.

I think that's a tad harsh. I haven't seen it but the general concensus is that it was more mis-timed than reckless, though was still a bad challenge. There have been plenty of awful challenges in the Premiership this season. I'm astonished that it's taken this long for a serious injury to actually happen! I actually think it was reckless, though thats only from seeing the replay on MOTD (the 2nd one that is, the first one was obscured by another player) wouldn't have been sure otherwise. Completely agree with the 2nd paragraph though, you've said what I was going to say! With the amount of reckless challenges there have been this season a player getting seriously injured was coming. I'm not even sure it was the worst one i've seen, Hunt's tackle on the Man City player in November was worse imo, and he wasn't even sent off for that! did anyone see motd last night and Eduardos leg ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/oQeLbvjiRgqeFBKanxGo.gif) I missed it, was more concerned in seeing how bad the tackle was, but my dad did mention about the bone sticking out ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/xKFbNBMdczwHHIvwbxXw.gif)

At least he apologised and retracted what he said afterwards. A certain Mr Mourinho would never have done that.. And Steve Stone has been summarising for 5 Live all season, he's done plenty of Newcastle games i think.

He didn't apologise early enough to keep his original comments from dominating the early editions of the Sunday papers. But, yes, he deserves some credit for retracting his ill-judged remarks.

Not being funny, but what is all this we cant show replays it's so bad, I'm sure I saw replays of Smith breaking his leg horribly, and Cisse. I just hope he does come back, somehow.
