#4 We Are All One Drugs - WeezerWeezer have had a #1 in this chart before, with 'Keep Fishin', and 'Hash Pipe' and 'Island In The Sun' also got into the top 20. This is a spoof of metal, which is ironic considering Iron Maiden are #6
But this song is here for the music, not the subject matter.
#6 The Trooper - Iron MaidenThis would normally have been higher - it fell from #247 to #276 in my top 300 this year - but it's a strong week... I do like the cover art
Might post it up on here at some point. One of their best tracks.
#7 Taste The Last Girl - Sons And DaughtersI first heard of this band when they supported Idlewild at their Brighton gig in April. I was pleasantly surprised
And now that I've heard this again, I'm considering the album... hoping for more singles from them in the coming months.
#11 f*** Forever - BabyshamblesSleazy yes, but also quite good. Not as blown away by this band as many seem to be, mind.
#15 Ain't No Easy Way - BRMCHad some success in my chart with 'Spread Your Love', and one or two other singles that scraped in. This is pretty good, but loses marks for pushing the point a bit. Gets a bit repetitive.
#20 With You - The Subways
Previously:
Rock And Roll Queen (July 2005), 1 wk, PP: #14. YEC position: 40th out of 48 so far.Another disappointment
They haven't yet matched their single before R&RQ, whose name escapes me.
