Subways After initial promise during the first half of the year, little impression on the charts, but I did like them when I saw them live, so they could do better with "No Goodbyes"
Rock And Roll Queen -- Jul-05 -- 1 wk, PP #13 With You -- Aug-05 -- 1 wk, PP #20 No Goodbyes -- Dec-05 -- 1 wk, PP #16 (still in chart)
Franz Ferdinand Sadly, I first heard of "Darts of Pleasure" well after its single release, but they soon had success...
Take Me Out -- Jan-04 -- 17 wks, PP #1 (3 wks) The Dark Of The Matinée -- Apr-04 -- 5 wks, PP #1 (2 wks) * - still on chart when I stopped it in May 2004. Do You Want To -- Sep-05 -- 8 wks, PP #5 Walk Away -- Dec-05 -- 2 wks, PP #3 (still in chart)

Arcade Fire The most successful act of 2005, with 3 numbers ones, all of which have gone at least Gold, and 5 nominations for the year-end-chart (Laika and Power Out from the first half of the year, when I didn't have a chart) They've had a song in the top 10 every week since July, except for one week, when Cold Wind was at #12 (Rebellion entered the charts the following week)
Cold Wind -- Jul-05 -- 7 wks, PP #1 Rebellion (Lies) -- Sep-05 -- 15 wks, PP #1 (2 wks) [still on chart] Wake Up -- Nov-05 -- 5 wks, PP #1 (2 wks) [still on chart]
Elbow Asleep In The Back -- Feb-02 -- 1 wk, PP #19 Fallen Angel -- Aug-03 -- 13 wks, PP #5 Fugitive Motel -- Nov-03 -- 18 wks, PP #1 (2 wks) Not A Job -- Mar-04 -- 10 wks, PP #5 Forget Myself -- Sep-05 -- 13 wks in top 20, PP #1 (3 wks) Leaders Of The Free World -- Nov-05 -- 6 wks, PP #1 (2 wks)

White Stripes Hold the record for most hits without a number one (The Denial Twist is their 10th)... but they have an outside chance of losing that record on Sunday.
Hotel Yorba -- Nov-01 -- 5 wks, PP #3 Fell In Love With A Girl -- Mar-02 -- 9 wks, PP #2 Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground -- Sep-02 -- 9 wks, PP #4 Seven Nation Army -- May-03 -- 15 wks, PP #4 (2 wks) I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself -- Sep-03 -- 5 wks, PP #14 The Hardest Button To Button -- Dec-03 -- 13 wks, PP #2 There's No Home For You Here -- Mar-04 -- 8 wks, PP #9 Blue Orchid -- Jul-05 -- 5 wks, PP #9 My Doorbell -- Aug-05 -- 4 wks, PP #8 The Denial Twist -- Nov-05 -- 4 wks, PP #5 (still in chart)
