We finally reach the final part of my countdown as I reveal the Bonanza Top 10 singles of 2005. 10. Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To? 144 pts ** 10 wks ** pk #1 (3 wks)Franz Ferdinand stormed into my chart at no. 1 with this ultra catchy first release from their 'You Could Have It So Much Better...' album. It finishes 2005 as my 10th biggest hit of the year.

09. Mylo Vs Miami Sound Machine - Doctor Pressure 154 pts ** 12 wks ** pk #1 (1 wk)As dance singles go, this was one of the most successful chart wise - as downloads tend to have a negative effect on physical dance sales. This track managed to overcome this to peak at #3 in the UK charts - but hit the top of my personal chart for one week.

08. 2Pac ft. Elton John - Ghetto Gospel 158 pts ** 12 wks ** pk #1 (5 wks)For a track that relied heavily on production, this somewhat odd coupling proved to be a massive success. Starting out as a big hit in Europe, 'Ghetto Gospel' soon became a UK no. 1, and later the same in Australia. In my chart, it became one of my longest running no. 1 singles for five weeks.

07. Razorlight - Somewhere Else 162 pts ** 12 wks ** pk #1 (4 wks)Razorlight stormed into my chart earlier in the year with 'Somewhere Else'. The single spent four weeks in poll position - though I also liked the b-side 'Keep the Right Profile' so it's no surprise to see this single high in my top 40 of 2005.

06. Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers 167 pts ** 12 wks ** pk #1 (4 wks)By far Eminem's biggest hit of 2005 in my chart was 'Like Toy Soliders'. Maybe it was the Martika sample, or maybe the lyrics, but there was something about this song that I liked - and so here it stands as my sixth biggest hit of the year.

05. The Pussycat Dolls ft. Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha 170 pts ** 12 wks ** pk #1 (1 wk)Such a slutty song - you either love this, or hate this! I thought this song was ridiculously catchy and was surprised with 'Stickwitu' being the follow up single as I'd pretty much regarded these girls as one hit wonders originally. Despite the one week at no. 1, the single stuck around for a while and becomes the fifth biggest hit from the Bonanza chart for 2005.

04. Stereophonics - Dakota 174 pts ** 14 wks ** pk #1 (3 wks)'Dakota', for me, is THE rock song of 2005 - and despite acts like Razorlight and Franz Ferdinand in my end of year top 10, they don't come close. Whilst my biggest single in 2004 came from a rock act (Green Day 'American Idiot'), my final three songs consist of two pop songs, and a pop/dance crossover smash. In which order do they appear? Let's find out...

03. Will Young - Switch It On 188 pts ** 13 wks ** pk #1 (3 wks)In third place is Will Young with his 2005 comeback single 'Switch It On' - a single which, imo, underperformed. I guess the new change in direction was a bit much for all the ballad obsessives out there. For me, this single was reminiscent of 'Faith' by George Michael though the verses were more catchy than the chorus itself!. Despite the poor performance in the UK charts, it stormed into my chart at no. 1 where it stayed for three weeks.

So, just two singles left - who will be the Bonanza no. 1 of 2005? Firstly, it's time to announce the single that came so close - but yet so far! 02. Sugababes - Push The Button 201 pts ** 16 wks ** pk #1 (1 wks)Hard to believe that initially, I didn't rate this song that high. Three weeks into its chart run, it stormed to no. 1, and whilst it may have only lasted a week at the top - 'Push The Button' spent 10 weeks alone inside the top 10. Quite deservedly, this song finishes as my second biggest hit of 2005...the Bonanza single of 2005 just beating Sugababes by a mere THREE points.

Which brings us to the conclusion of my chart. Maybe you've already worked out what my no. 1 of 2005 is. I can now reveal that my no. 1 IS... NOT the Crazy Frog!!! Oh no NO, don't insult my intelligence. No, the Bonanza no. 1 single of 2005 goes to... 01. Madonna - Hung Up 204 pts ** 10 wks ** pk #1 (7 wks)Madonna's massive pop/dance crossover hit 'Hung Up' is the Bonanza no. 1 single of 2005. As already said, it was too close at the end - just 3 points seperating Madonna and Sugababes...but it can't be denied that these are both two great pop songs. Oh well, another end of year chart done and dusted. Let's hope 2006 brinks us some top tunes.
