ANALYSIS
Drop outs from last week are THAT'S NO WAY TO TELL A LIE, SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLE, MONSTER and LAST REQUEST.
New entries are seen from Matt Willis, Sandi Thom, Maria Lawson and Jamelia. Jamelia leads the pack, along with Maria landing in the top 30.
CHASING CARS stays at #1 for a 3rd week, its 13th week on chart in total, and this is also Snow Patrol's 7th week at number one (including the 4 that CHOCOLATE managed in 2004). Last week's runner up SMILEY FACES gets yet another week at #2.
The top 10 is shaken up by some big climbers, the highest being LOVE DON'T LET ME GO (WALKING AWAY) which leaps 29-3. Divine Comedy's TO DIE A VIRGIN makes a smaller climb to #7 and the Arctic Monkeys' LEAVE BEFORE THE LIGHTS COME ON makes a spectacular jump from 35-10. Just outside the 10 are The Feeling, Muse, Basement Jaxx and Lemar, all preparing for full release on the UK charts.

David Guetta and the Monkeys in the top 10 = excellent!

I'm really loving the Guetta/Egg track now, wasn't sure I'd take to it because I liked the original so much, and the Arctic Monkeys has grown on me more since I reenacted the video by walking past the corner where the girl on the roof throws her shoe down!

Funny thing is, it has a similar jump to the UK charts, so it looks like I'm copying when I do my final chart well before the Sunday!

Great #1. Matt Willis I haven't heard yet because it's not yet reached my playlists.
The only one of your new entries I've heard is this one: NE XX 30 SLEEPWALKING - Maria Lawson (1) which is yet another song that samples - this one is based on "Have You Seen Her" by the Chi-Lites, a song I played on my recent 1971-73 special. The song went top 5 twice, in both 1972 and 1975. MC Hammer also released a cover of it.

Cheers Earl. I love the Chi-Lites (my mum's a big 70's soul lover) and Maria's song ain't bad either. Matt Willis is ok, not enjoying it as instantly as "Up All Night" though.
