i'd say "the whole story" from kate bush eventhough it doesn't include songs from "the red shoes" or "the sensual" world, it's a collection of the biggest hits from the first part of her career. i was dissapointed with the greatest hits from björk cause she forgot to add her greatest hit and "alarm call" and "i miss you" "it's in our hands" is hardly her best track ever either. but all in all a nice collection nevertheless. "tales of a librarian" is wicked! love the re-recorded tracks and the new songs, some songs sound even better in their new shape. the artwork is lovely too. the only - thing for me is the dvd. it's too short, hell why is it even there. i want a full tori dvd jewel and pj harvey should release a greatest hits (or do they already have one?), i'd buy it

I would say Björk's, since I don't own Tori's or Kate's. Though it seemed strange to hear the Post tracks next to the Vespertine tracks, it quite worked. And the tracklist is, unlike Tori's, brilliant. (No It's Oh So Quiet ! YES !) The artwork is boring though. And I quite love 'It's In Our Hands'. Nothing revolutionary, but quite catchy. (The remix is better though)
Jewel and PJ don't have a compilation out.

Kate Bush's The Whole Story is most excellent - especially for the re-recorded Wuthering Heights and Experiment IV. I didn't bother with Bjork's GH and I almost wish I didn't bother with TOAL - the new tracks and remixes are nothing special. The extra choir bit on 'Way Down' is worth hearing but not worth splashing out all the cash on!

I didn't bother with Bjork's GH did you buy the live box? i think that's her proper greatest hits really, but in a live version of course it's quite expensive but so worth the money!

I might consider buying the singles collection out in April - if I can afford it though... love to get my hands on those Vespertine Bsides... so difficult getting them from kazaa..
I'm not really pushed to get the live stuff though...

GET the live box, really. Totally worth the money as para said, unlike the Family Tree box. Every material would be 'new' to you if you don't own any of her live DVDs or downloaded live mp3s. And it comes with a brilliant booklet and good design. The 'Homogenic' disc is for me the absolute highlight from the 4. (I assume for you Vespertine-guys it's different but ) The Homogenic songs are powerful and wonderful live and the earlier songs have improved arrangements, especially the Anchor Song as closure with the total silence and her voice and the strings only. 'my anCHOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooor' *fades* ......silence..*clapping*... 'and this is...'... BEAUtiful. I hope I encouraged you now

I might consider buying the singles collection out in April - if I can afford it though... i've had it a bit with all her boxes tbh why can't she just release an album with all her b-sides + a disc with her best remixes. NOOOO, instead we get another box i probably can't afford

Patti Smith - "Land", without a doubt. Superb 2-disc set. The first containing a concise summary of her career to date, with all the tracks handpicked by the fans. Add a unique take on Prince's "When Doves Cry" and you've got a superb GH in its own right. But then you've got Disc 2 - full of quirky little rarities, demos, live tracks etc. And Patti sounds marvellous on all of them. A brilliant showcase of her talents.
