great indie-pop... got their greatest hits i really wish they hadn't split up, though i suppose on the evidence of their last album it might have been for the best anyone else like them? favourite songs?

I need to get Mel in here, she's a fan... I love runaground and ring the bells and nearly everything on the GH, but think sit down is overrated

i do love "sit down", but there are better songs... "destiny calling" and "say something" are great, and i love the lyrics of "hymn from a village"

Ooh, James were fab! I MUST get round to buying the GH. I have the "Millionnaires" album. Not as good as some of their earlier stuff, but it's got some gems on there - "I Know What I'm Here For" And "Sit Down" is wonderful Pop classic!

Yeah you must get the GH Ryan, it is truly a gem, a bit like the Crowded House one, in fact, we need a Crowded House thread as well. Must do a Smiths one as well! I can see this forum filling up very quickly, as was my intention! ;D

ah yes, "i know what i'm here for" was great... sadly missing from the gh 'I know what i'm here for' was released after the GH album, hence it not being included. 'Ring the bells' is one of my fav songs ever! I really regret not seeing them at the Reading Festival in 1997. I was there, but must have been watching some less memorable band.

well, of course there's "sit down" ;D both the original and the 1998 apollo 440 remix are very good. aside from that, "she's a star", "laid", "how was it for you?" and the brilliant "destiny calling" are the best of the really conventional pop/rock stuff... other stuff: "i know what i'm here for" is a bit more synthesised, "say something" and "sometimes" are two of the more emotional ones that i really love, and "hymn from a village" has great lyrics... take your pick
