since im just a baby i wasnt around at the time and grew up listneing to 80's/90's music, but for some unknown reason i got really into abba a few years back and think they are fab. my fave song has to be waterloo, but i think muriels wedding helped that decision lol!! i also really like chiquitita (sp) or chiken tikka as i sing along to it, lol!!

Yeah they're great ,Julzy.Have you got Abba Gold then as most people have? It's sold around 4 million in the UK alone, one of the best selling albums of all time.I've also got More Abba Gold and all their original albums on cd. A lot of their album only tracks are brilliant. In some ways I prefer them to The Beatles, more catchier tunes.

More Abba Gold is ace,has Angel Eyes which was a double a-side single with Voulez-Vouz. Also The Day Before You Came.Blancmange had the hit with that but Abba's version is better.Lot of lesser hits too like Ring Ring that couldn't fit on Abba Gold.Well worth getting,Julzy, should be still available. In fact I think I'll play it tomorrow!

i would be remiss if I didn't give my support to this band.. Pop in it's best form, made by real musicians... This is my fathers favorite group so grew up with this my whole life. Have been to Mamma Mia twice and plan to go again this summer when my parents visit

No,Julzy,as far as I know Abba never recorded I Know Him So Well but it was written by Benny and Bjorn. That's probably why it was in the show.It reached no.1 in 1985 for Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson and was from the musical Chess.

I want to see Mamma Mia too but you've to wait about a year for the first available tickets.

I want to see Mamma Mia too but you've to wait about a year for the first available tickets. It was on in Vegas too. Probably could have got tickets, but I was more interested in seeing Celine Dion & Elton John. Like Andy said at the start of the thread, I was also brought up with the "Super Trouper album. I still have the origional cassette from 1980 and it's one of the few cassettes that I still play today....the others being the early Blondie albums.

Mamma Mia is an ingenious and well-crafted musical - and the songs are not half bad either!

I see they're releasing a 30th anniversary edition of the original Greatest Hits from 1976.I had that on old vinyl, quite a few good early album tracks on it like Hasta Manana. Can't see it selling copious quantities though as too many people have Abba Gold.
