Cant have a Retro Lounge with no appreciation of the fantastic discotastic Abba! I grew up listening to the album Super Trouper and Arrival, loved it! Still a BIG fan now... Any more of you? Fave tunes by them? So many good pop songs, but also sad songs, heavily underrated tunes...

I'm a little to young to remember them when they were still together, but I've got to know a lot of their music over the years. My first exposure to them was Abba-esque by Erasure, prior to that I'd never heard of them. Dancing Queen is a staple of any retro club nite I've ever been to! An absolute classic that no one can sit down to! ;D Back in the mid-90s I had a fave club that my friends and I used to go to and every Sunday night was retro night where they'd play 70's and 80's hits and they were always playing Abba records. That's really how I was introduced to them.

They're ok.
I've come to realise that I don't like the songs as much as I thought I did.

You need to stick abba gold on babes, have a listen, some corking tunes there and some sad ones as well, might be more than 1 that makes your best of list;)

Slightly offtopic but I saw Bjorn Again last night. Anybody with an interest in ABBA must see them.

The visitors is great album followed by Super Trouper. I can't decide which song I like most because it changes almost every month but my current fav song is "I let the music speak"

Arrival is probably my fave album, but Super Trouper and The Visitors would be close behind. Don't really rate I Let The Music Speak though, loving When All Is Said And Done at the moment!

I love em but I have to be really in the mood if you get what I mean... too chirpy for me most of the time.

Knowing Me, Knowing You is the greatest pop song of all time and the video of Agnetha walking painfully away through the snow is sensational.
Andante, Andante could have been a Christmas #1 single.

It is easy to disregard ABBA as lightweight but they are classic purveyors of pop music.
I also saw Bjorn Again and they were very good - especially loved it when the girls left the stage and the boys launched into Living On A Prayer.

It is just such a joy to put on Gold and hear such brilliant pop records.

They had so many great album tracks which would have made great singles such as Another Town Another Terin and My Love My Life
