One of the most important British bands of the late seventies/early eighties.
It wasn't all about Paul Weller (Although it was his most creative era), Bruce Foxton & Rick Buckler have never been given the praise they deserve.
As a prime example the album "Setting Sons" contains some wonderfull Weller lyrics, waxing lyrical about the importance of friendship, but Foxton beats him hands down with the albums centrepiece "Smithers Jones".

Oh yeah, top band. My Dad got me into them, he had loads of Jam tapes and I listened to them a lot as a child.
Loads of classics like "Eton Rifles", "Going Underground", "Down In The Tube Station At Midnight", "That's Entertainment", "Town Called Malice".
I should really buy their best-of at some point.

Used to but all their singles on vinyl too.Snap is superb Danny,really worth getting.

I got it for £4.99 in Asda.Think there's 2 versions,single and a double with b-sides etc, but I got the single one as those didn't interest me.

Have just got Snap! The 2 CD version for £8.99 on hmv.co.uk!! I went in loads of music shops the other day and the cheapest I could find it was £15.99!!

"English Rose" is being used in a TV commerical at the minute.

If anyone doesn't know "Butterfly Collector" try and find a copy it's probably their best song. "English Rose" is being used in a TV commerical at the minute. Butterfly Collector is truely a thing of beauty. In fact they did some cracking B sides. Tales From The Riverbank is another classic.

Have just got Paul Weller's "Hit Parade" - A FOUR CD box set. One CD dedicated to The Jam, One to The Style Council, and two to Weller's solo career. 67 tracks in total!!
