Blimey, wonder if it is worth anything, and wonder what it's sales were like, compared to more recent ones?

I have it on tape, it was my sisters! Still think it's one of the best Now Albums.

Many classics in it, songs that have really survived time (i wonder how much of it is due precicely to their inclussion in the compilation). I cannot beleave the 'Rocksteady Crew' is so old...Or 'Lovecats' (!!!).

It wasn't the first album of its kind by a long way, I had an old K-Tel album called "Hit Action" that had songs from 1977 and a few from before. There was a series of "Top Of The Pops" albums but those were not original artists. K-Tel albums were original artists (although not always original recordings. Sometimes the record company would not allow them to use the recording to the artist re-recorded it for the compilation).
NTWICM became a regular series, and may partly explain why singles sales had a decline in the 1980s, as many would simply wait for the compilation which was much cheaper per single (assuming you didn't care about the B-sides), especially as more and more hits would appear on it. Of course soon enough they became available on CD and this would often be a 2-CD set with 20 songs on each CD so 40 in all.

Had a K-Tel one from 1974,original songs and artists. However they'd cut out a whole verse from Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks.
