No surprise really that Radio 2 didn't play No's 10 and 20!

I played Gary Glitter songs in my 1971-73 special. I suppose if you take that view you can't play anything by Phil Spectre either.

I would have bought 16 Singles in that Top 20.
These days, I struggle to see a Single in the entire Top 40 that I want to buy. Yet, many people say that the Charts of the 1974 & 1975 period were rubbish! God knows what that makes 2007's Charts, then!

That's the chart of the week i was born ! I already knew what the number one was,and it's a great song.I grew up to love ABBA and love Eurovision so it's v. apt.
Looking at that list, the only others one I sort of know are :
3 1 Terry Jacks Seasons In The Sun ................. I know the westlife version. 4 4 Wombles Remember You're A Womble........urgh 5 9 Chi-Lites Homely Girl.................................I know UB40 if it's the same ? If it is,I don't like it.lol 8 6 Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye You Are Everything........ I have this on her hits set.I like. 16 28 Three Degrees Year Of Decision...........the title rings a bell.Is it a song by an Almighty act ? 19 13 Bill Haley & The Comets Rock Around The Clock........''Gonna rock around the clock tonight'' don't know the rest of it.lol
The best song was number one, definately !

The Glitter Band didn't feature Gary anyway. It was his backing band.
Yes, the Chi-Lites have had many of their songs covered. Others were "Too Good To Be Forgotten" (covered by Amazulu) and "Have You Seen Her" (MC Hammer, although this was not an exact cover).
