Who remembers Transvision Vamp? Wendy hadn't much of a voice, but I loved their single I want your love. Talking 'bout trash!

They were fabulous! I think my sister was the southern hemisphere's biggest Wendy James fan. I think their first two albums are pop classics - I wouldn't call them trashy at all. They were well received by critics and Elvis Costello was so impressed he wrote a solo album for Wendy (which flopped miserably... and was dire ). I think they should get their act together and try again. Their album "Velveteen" is a true gem.

I never liked that Wendy James, just something about her that I didn't like.I did like three of the singles ( Baby I Don't Care,Landslide Of Love,I Want Your Love) even though her voice was rough.
For some reason that pic of Wendy James reminds me of Grace from Big Brother Uk.
Jennifer Ellison has a clearer voice but her cover version of Baby I Don't Care didn't really do much for me.

I think Wendy James was class! There was an article about her in yesterday's paper funnily enough. Coundown (a 1970s/80s Aus music TV show) is launching a tour of acts that appeared on the show and they asked people involved in it about their favourite moments. One man said that his favourite moment was when Transvision Vamp and Bros appeared on the show together. Apparently, after the show one of the Bros boys asked Wendy out and she told him to f*** off, grabbed a guy from the audience and said she'd rather go out with a real man! I rate it!

Apart from her horrendous solo career, Wendy James was amazing. Tell That Girl To Shut Up was the trashiest! Pete Burns mentions it as a favourite in his book, after he talks about Wendy slating one of his singles on live TV -- he was beyond proud.

Wendy James & Pete Burns would be a match made in heaven! There should be a duet!
