I bought the following on CD single: 2 Saturday Night - Whigfield 8 Crazy For You – Let Loose 9 Things Can Only Get Better – D:Ream 10 Doop - Doop 11 The Sign – Ace Of Base 13 Rhythm Of The Night - Corona 15 Seven Seconds – Youssou N’Dour ft Neneh Cherry 19 (Meet The) Flintstones – BC-52s 24 Searching – China Black 25 Return To Innocence - Enigma 30 Love Me For A Reason - Boyzone 33 Another Night – MC Sar ft Real McKoy 35 Sweetness – Michelle Gayle Which is not an awful lot seeing as I was buying four or five singles a week in 94. I remember the Summer of 94 was particularly bland with the same six or seven singles consistantly clogging up the top end of the chart. Both The Sign and Crazy For You were in my year end chart, but other great singles that missed the Top 40 completely were the two singles that Lush released in the same week (Hypocrite and Desire Lines).

I'm gonna grossly generalise here, but the mid 90s (93-96) musically for me always seemed dire. A lot of eurocheese about and reggae type affairs. However I shall pick on some faves (please note I may not necessarily like the artist but the songs were okay)...
6 Without You – Mariah Carey 8 Crazy For You – Let Loose (great tune) 11 The Sign – Ace Of Base 17 All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey (still love this) 18 Everything Changes – Take That 30 Love Me For A Reason - Boyzone 32 Breathe Again – Toni Braxton 35 Sweetness – Michelle Gayle 40 Sweets For My Sweet – CJ Lewis (wow this was a big fave lol)
Oh God I remember buying Come On You Reds (the team that every defender dreads) for my brother... hahaha!

A fair amount of those singles where available on vinyl too, as well as cd single. Have quite a few of those on vinyl.
I think vinyl singles started phasing out around 95/96 with the exception of indies of course.

Searching by Chinablack was my favourate from there.I liked all their releases, but somehow the public's interest went downhill after this great single. How about starting a "whatever happened to" no.4?, Smurf?

I remember buying (mostly on cassette single) : Things Can Only Get Better – D:Ream The Sign – Ace Of Base All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey Everything Changes – Take That The Most Beautiful Girl In The World - Prince Breathe Again – Toni Braxton Hey Now) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun – Cyndi Lauper Sweetness- Michelle Gayle
and I still love all those, except maybe the Prince song. I remember loving Let Loose Crazy For You but for some unknown reason did not buy it,and I liked Boyzones Love me For A Reason too,and Celine Dions Think Twice, didn't buy those either.
I hated Whigfield at the time, but I like it now.lol
