Ah, that would be Bill Drummond.
As well as KLF and The White Room, he has written some GREAT books. 45 is a favourite of mine, plus How To Be An Artist. Also the book written after they had a hit with the Timelords, "The Manual: How To Have A Number One The Easy Way" I found a very interesting little read.

Oh, they got a right critical panning after that, and were accused of wasting money. Basically from the Royalties they had gained from saled from the KLF, from what I can remember, they took all the money up to Scotland (I think) and burned the money in a barn. They then filmed the burning of the barn filled with money, and did an Art Clubs tour showing people the film. I didn't go down too well.
They also had a publicity stunt of buying hundreds of cans of Special Brew, forming a structure out of it, then driving the structure down to the House Of Parliament for the press to photograph, and then hand the cans of strong lager out to homeless people. They also got an equal negative response for being so irresponsible as to give homeless people with an alcohol habit drink, when there were charitable organisations trying to do exactly the opposite.
I'm sure there were other publicity stunts they also did that went equally as wrong! I think one involved a dead sheep at the Brit Awards and something to do with sound waves and cows on Dartmoor.
(Apologies if any of this I got slightly wrong, I'm going from memory!)

Justified And Ancient is by far the best KLF track. But I was equally drawn to Its Grim Up North by the JAMMS.

Last train to trancentral and America what time is love? both in single remixed form were both so noisy but amazing at the same time.Still listen to it all the time, good songs to let the frustrations out to!

Back to the original subject The White Room (hosted by Mark Radcliffe I believe) had some great live performances including Damon Albarn in a duet with Ray Davies. Has there ever been a compilation DVD from the programme?
