Another one of my tapes from a dusty box in the loft! Man, I loved these in the day, many a friday night spent dancing to Unbelievable down the Quayside in Exeter in my uni days I'll pass more thoughts on the album when I have a listen, I know I love Children and was shocked by some of the swearing!

They are very representative of the early 1990s in terms of fashion and music. 'Lies' was another great tune from 'Shubert Dip.'

Was never really much of a fan of EMF. Unbelievable was such a staple of under 18's discos, that I got bored of them rather quickly. Some of their later on singles were OK. I liked It's Here and Perfect Day. The one they did with Reeves and Mortimer was truely horrible though!

Afro King, which I believe was their last single to chart was quite good!
I think one of the band committed suicide in the early 2000s.

I think one of the band committed suicide in the early 2000s. The bass guitarist I think! What did EMF actually stand for? There were so many different variations on the initials when I was a teen, that I am unsure which was the correct one!

Ecstacy Mother f**kers wasn't it? One of Mel's friends was dating the keyboard player I think before they were famous, once Unbelievable was a hit, I think she was dumped!

See, I heard the Ecstacy Mother f**kers one, and also Evil Mother f**kers, and Epsom Mad Funkers - which confused me as they weren't from Epsom - I thought they were from deepest darkest Gloucestershire???

I remember this album, I thought it was ok at the time. I remember the samples they used from War Of The Worlds, plus the controversial sample of Mark Chapman talking on Lies and the sound of Derry smashing a wall on I Believe. Best of all was the untitled track at the end where they were spelling out what EMF stood for.

That was it, it was a hidden track, I'll be listening to this over the next couple of days!

But I Believe was a worse version of Unbelievable for me.
Another one hit wonder in the US along with Chumbawamba.
