Thanks that's really interesting. The earliest memories I have of Woolies is early 70's, about 1973, buying the old cheap TOTP covers albums on Saturday mornings.

they have them security labels stuck on the cds cases when you open them it can break the case and the Cd's from our one are often in poor condition

By the time you get it off the case can be broken. Had some badly scratched ones from Woolies too recently.

It used to be that whatever Woolworth put up as their "new" chart on the Monday usually turned out to be the official chart the next Sunday!

I used to go in Woolies and write down the singles from 41-75 and 76-100 if they had them, they must have thought me very strange!

It wasn't in the NME at that time - you had to copy it from the store copy of Music Week

I remember buying the K-Tel and Ronco compilations in Woolies. Original artists with about 22 tracks. They used to cut some songs short though. One which sticks in my mind is them cutting an entire verse out of Seasons In The Sun!!
