(Source: NME) Franz Ferdinand say they have been busted for trying to smuggle an orange into New Zealand. Singer Alex Kapranos revealed the band were fined $200 when airport security found the orange in their luggage.
He said: "They're very particular about taking any kind of foodstuffs across the borders and things, they were going crazy and the X Ray machines were flashing and going nuts, and we thought: "Oh my God, they've found the stash of cocaine!"
"But it wasn't, it was the orange. They didn't give a damn about the hard drugs, it was the fact that we were smuggling an orange into the country. No citrus fruits!" ;D

We were rather worried about the cream eggs (it was Easter). Thought they might look like bombs on the xray!

Now I think you're all underestimating the power of an orange. I had my first one when I was a kid and I still have them today, whoa they're addictive.
Kids, don't do it.

lol ;D that reminds me of when i was coming back from morocco 2 years ago... i'd bought one of those star lamp things - essentially a giant spiky mass of pointy metal bits and glass that looks a bit like a mace - and decided to take it through the airport as handluggage, badly wrapped in a towel and plastic bag (with the spikes still sticking out of it). you could kill two people at once with one of those things. and what did they confiscate? my NAIL SCISSORS ;D
