Has anyone got this, heard this? My kind brother won it and has passed it to me Was a BIG Manics fan in the past, but this bombed in the charts, wondered if there was a reason? Certainly taken out the darkness and heaviness... It's ok, a few better tracks than the next single Empty Souls... But I guess it is just a blit bleurgh, bland...

yep its good but for the Manics its very poor. All the spirit and energy that they used to have and proved they still had in them with 'Masses against the classes' has gone on this record. There still one of my top 10 fave bands tho

I like it quite a bit. Possibly my favourite MSP album since The Holy Bible.

I like the Richard Nixon single and it inspired to start listening to Everything Must Go again. It's a really good album, but the only one I ever bought by them. Will probably be buying their greatest hits soon... I'm really interested in hearing all the songs I've missed over the years.
Did the album really flop that badly? That's too bad, I never really followed its progress so I didnt know. I kind of like Empty Souls though, it has a catchy piano riff that I cant get out of my head. Hopefully it'll do well.
I noticed that Radio 1 doesn't seem to be playing them anymore. Well, no one else is either I guess. I figure the political lyrics of the first single could explain its lack of airplay but why is this new one being ignored? They don't appear to have had an appreciable uk radio hit since 1999.

Just bought their Greatest Hits the other day. OMG I love it!! So many great tracks I totally missed out on.
I'm totally into their pre-1996 songs from before they became huge, especially Motorcycle Emptiness and Suicide Is Painless. I now see why so many people were always saying how good they used to be. Too bad so few songs from their first 3 albums were included on the GH as I would like to hear more of them. Does anyone have a recommendation for a next album to buy from them?
