Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted Pavement Slanted and Enchanted (Deluxe Edition) (Matador) Matador re-releases Pavement’s classic debut Slanted and Enchanted with a bevy of extra tracks and cuts that will undoubtedly satisfy your indie rock cravings. What they give you here is Stephen Malkmus and co.’s original album (14 tracks) remastered to incredible quality and 34 more tracks that span 2 discs. They throw in unreleased tracks, live tracks, B-sides, compilation tracks and since they’re going for broke; an entire live concert too. Has there been another Pavement collection worth having? I think not. With tracks like "Summer Babe" and "Two States" in prime condition, those who seek indie rock history will most likely discover that Pavement are without doubt, one of the seminal bands of the genre. The live tracks, eerie and profound, exemplify the band’s ability to captivate an audience. Recorded in 1992 at the Brixton Academy, the set list is replete with favorites and classic tracks – if not merely adding to the value of these two discs but to remind those who enjoyed them back in their heyday just how important they were. It also gives new listeners a chance to discover the finest work from a band that put an entire genre on the map. Indie rock enthusiasts, especially those who are just getting on board, if you want a piece of history, Pavement’s Slanted and Enchanted is the choice record – and if you’d like to “super size” that, you’ll want to get this two disc, remastered version for extra value and all around Pavement goodness. Interpol:Antics
Review from The Guardian:
On paper, Interpol's second album should offer more grist to the mill of those who think they're too indebted to Joy Division. The sound is taut, military drums patter and guitars and basslines match the dictionary definitions of "doom-laden". However, the New Yorkers' follow-up to 2002's slow-burn hit Turn on the Bright Lights manages to dabble with tension and still emerge with something life-affirming. The trick has been to play off some of the most monochrome music imaginable against Paul Banks's colour-drenched vocal. Hardly a technically great vocalist, he is a master of nuance, allowing just the right tinges of fear and regret to creep into songs about unrequited love. Gradually, the album becomes a game of name-your-favourite, the serenely magnificent Next Exit and fizzing electrics of Not Even Jail possibly doing most to send their career further into orbit.

Ooh, handy list - I like the top 2, and the other two that I actually own from that list... What's the tracklisting of 'Trailer'? And a few song recommendations? Will be download spreeing later, after being deprived of it for two months...
