The Sound of 2005 list is unveiled this week. Who are your tips to do well this year?
Here are mine, in no particular order:
Kaiser Chiefs
Dears
Interpol
Bloc Party (album-wise)
Dresden Dolls

Interpol? ... they've been around for 3 years already and sell out big venues in hours... 2002 and 2004 were their years, they have nothing big to achieve in 2005... but Bloc Party for sure (although the album lags a bit in places), Kaiser Chiefs sure... interesting you have Dresden Dolls, they have the novelty I suppose... but I prefer The Ditty Bops The big breakthrough acts in 2005 will be from the grime world... Kano, D Double E, Demon etc.... after Lethal Bizzle's showcasing of their talent, they can only go from strength to strength... the East London scene is going to EXPLODE Also The Others (bit rubbish) and The Rakes (bit great!)... and my obscuro tips are Hot Chip, Fonda 500, 65daysofstatic, The Kinison, The Longcut, Wolfmother and Munk... hey, maybe The Secret Machines and The Go! Team will get some commercial success too!

I know Interpol have been around a while but they've never had much success in the UK in terms of sales. If the new single does well it could give the album a much-needed boost.
