The La's are set to reform. House of Love, Suede, Happy Mondays, talk of the Stone Roses - is there any 90's band that's not reforming?! Sadly none of the new music from any of these bands I've liked... www.nme.com/news/111770.htm

yeah - their self-titled album was not very bad actually. I used to play it a lot when I had people that only liked Country/Western music over or in the car (when I lived in the US...) as it was the closest I could get to their music without killing anyone...
Anyways - 'Timeless Melody' and 'Way Out' were pretty good. I just browsed the album and it does sound very samey to be fair...

"There She Goes" is just one of those songs I just don't get. Don't hate it but just don't see the appeal - ie one of the most overrated songs ever. Cast had a few good tracks 'Beat Mama', 'Alright' 'Sandstorm'... but the fact that I can't remember many of the others indicates how influential they were

Cast had a few good tracks 'Beat Mama', 'Alright' 'Sandstorm'... but the fact that I can't remember many of the others indicates how influential they were "There She Goes" is simply a nice and simple ditty. Simple enough for the public to like it so it did well. Let's face it, it's 2 chords with a third for the chorus - not rocket science here! Cast - dunno much about them, except they came from the ashes of The La's. Didn't like The La's enough to follow the band members to their new stuff to be fair... As for them being influential - they weren't Just got an email for a gig in Londone. Happy Mondays, The Farm and Clint Boon DJ'ing etc... Was tempted but running out beer money too quick these days and decided not go - mostly as I know all the bands will be sh*t live. Would be interesting to see The Farm as they made a few good pop tracks, albeit nothing good enough to get me going to the concert obviously

Did some good songs but also a few crap ones and so they were seen as being a bit rubbish and unfashionable (see Shed Seven).

Well, the stone roses arn't reforming , but great to see The La's make a comeback!!!. Would prefer John Power's other band Cast to reform instead tho.

I'm not a big fan of reformations as a rule, but I saw Pop Will Eat Itself (twice) in January and have to admit I changed my mind on the whole thing!

Cast were excellent, but their sound really was stuck in the mid-90s!
