Why exactly did it flop? It's the best Elbow single, I got it and it got to like #47 or something Stupid public, lol.

ooh, hooray ;D could we possibly have found a new elbow fan? if you like them, please do keep posting in here... very much appreciated elbow singles don't often do terrifically; they're not the most popular band i think "fugitive motel" might have been released at a time when most fans already had the album... but then again, how well did "not a job" do? perhaps "fugitive motel" didn't get enough promotion... i only saw the video once. their best single ever also missed the top 40 a couple of years ago, sadly

It's the best Elbow single, I got it and it got to like #47 or something Stupid public, lol. According to The Book of Complete UK Hit Chart Singles, it got to #44. I quite like it as well. (Thanks Glenn)

It wasn't publicised very well, and 'Not A Job' has more of a charty feel to it - it's a positive song, and those TEND to do better. Mid-20s I think?

According to everyhit.com, it was #26. I heard it quite a lot on R1, but it does seem that noone knew it was out. I only seen it by chance looking round the singles

According to everyhit.com, it was #26. Yeah, that sounds about right for Elbow. lucky you... which one did you get? I got CD2, and I did know it was coming

Ooh, nice... and yeah, there was CD1, CD2 and a DVD. You must have got CD1, because mine CD2 has "love blown down" and a different mix of Ribcage - shorter one I believe.
