www.chcmedia.com/forums/index.php?showforum=116I know it's bad practice to advertize sites on other fora but Andy advertises haven on CHC and we don't mind, so I thought I'd do the same here lol We've just set up a trial 2 Unlimited artist forum and I REALLY want it to be a success. Most probably a lot of you are already members of CHC anyway - would you come into the forum and help me make it a success? The site owner has given me a week else it'll be axed. Help! www.chcmedia.com to sign up if you haven't

one question
Why?

There are loads of reasons:
1. lack of any form of dance act having an optional forum on ANY site. Think of all the sites you know - chart freaks, CHC, BJ, moopy, haven. How many have dance acts as optional fora?
2. To bring a new kind of poster to CHC. CHC (I hate to admit) is notorious for having staid dull artists in the optional fora. It reads like a who's who of muzak. I want to get some decent posters who are into better music onto the site.
3. Eurodance was a genre that is wholly unrepresented on British sites. The older generation dismissed it as they didn't understand it and the younger generation haven't been exposed to it because the older generation own the media.

But why a defunct 90s dance act - why not one of the current dance acts?
How much success do you realistically expect to have with a forum dedicated to a dutch band nobody cares that much about anymore - and who have no new releases on the horizon?

I used to love 90s Euro dance! Most of it does sound dated now, but it still brings back a wave of nostalgia and some great memories for me! I think a Euro Dance forum might be more successful than a specific artist forum in this instance.

Hmmmm, 2 Unlimited would be good but if you opened a Venga Boys forum here, posting would go through the ROOF!! Y not a Crazy Frog forum too btw! It's a dance forum, but it's not only restricted to the dance genre, i'll luv to see some posters posting threads bout other genre of dance music like Euro dance, disco, undergound, garage, jungle n all other genres of electronic music.

Don't be ridiculous. Crazy Frog is a silly, unrespected project that is a slap in the face to more serious Electronic/Dance musicians. Many people feel that way in both the U.K. and the U.S. I'm don't give a flying fig about Crazy Frog! 2 Unlimited has many fans here in the States. It is strange that Eurodance now has more radio and club play in the States and Canada than the U.K. Thanks.

In the U.S., the success of Euro-NRG songs is usually limited to the Hot Dance Music/Club Play, Dance Radio Airplay and Rhythmic Top 40 charts. It does not get equal face time but seems to be more respected overall than in the U.K. It is even more successful in Canada where the songs seem to reguarly make the Canadian Singles Chart. Thanks.

I can't believe the debate that has ensued with regards to this. The forum on CHC is a bit more open with regards to its discussion than just 2U. We've been discussing other eurodance acts on there atm. Having said that, there IS still a lot to talk about and it generates about as much discussion as the other artist fora on there.
Anyway, I feel a bit rude advertising CHC on haven so I'll stop. Although, I think most members use both anyway. I know I do.
