I think i asked this before but was buried in a thread... am curious how many dance fans here actaully go to clubs and which ones you do go to! I go to Fabric every 3-4 months (usually the electro night 'Kill Em All and Let God Sort them Out' - which i think has just stopped as I don't see anything coming anymore. It looks like it may have changed it's name to 'Adventures in the Beetroot field' but not sure - see listtings here for details - www.fabriclondon.com/club/listings.phpOther than that I do random selected nights depending on what's on. Last week i went to Slaang which had some great music - www.myspace.com/slaang. I've been to most the other clubs like Turnmills (too pedestrian, one good small room tho), The Cross (great club, but not very big dj's so not sure what is on), 93 Feet East (good for bands and club nights - need to know what's on before going), and Cargo, Ministry of Sound (worst club i've EVER been to)... any other clubs i may be missing? I'm obvsiously most interested in the 'electro'

I have not begun to go clubbing as yet. However, I do not see myself going to those mainstream Discoteques or Dancehalls because I prefer a more intimate environment. I want to talk with other club patrons without yelling. Also, I am not crazy about Dance music that is not Soul, Pop, Disco, or Gopsel music based, so those mostly cold intrumental type dance music does not work for me. I see myself going to smaller clubs with seating, but intimate in feeling. I could do a standing room only outing, but not for longer than an 90 minutes. I hear the lounge and loft parties around here are good, however, they are all underground not mainstream. I don't mind much. I have something to look forward to for my nightlife pleasure. Thanks.

Suffice to say there are certainly small clubs to go to, but Dance music will almost always be at high volume in public - to get people dancing!!! All the clubs i mentioned have seating areas though.. if you are out for 8+ hours you need seating!!!
Anyone else go clubbing?! I'd be a bit shocked if i'm the only one!!

Once a month, i go to clubs because here the songs played are such a boredom (imagine they mostly play Shakira, Sean Paul)and dont play songs that are doin well right now, like Fedde, Alex Gaudino or even BootyLuv. Will have 2 wait for around 2 months time for such songs to be played in clubs.

I rarely go to clubs now, certainly not dance orientated ones. I do go to the more studenty indie clubs as they've always been more my style anyway.

I don't like clubs but go to live sets of famous DJs like Paul Oakenfold, Above & Beyond, etc when they come to Moscow. I prefer listening to dance music in my mp3-player while i'm going somewhere...

very curious... this is a type of music that is MEANT to be listened to / enjoyed at clubs...
Maybe this explains why most people here like the 'chart' danse rether than what the popular clubs are actually playing...?

I think dance music i like is quite different than what most of you listen to is all.. as evidenced by my session mixes and the general lack of response from people on this board.... www.indielectronicaonline.com/Mixes/Session.htmlbut this is what most of the bigger clubs in london play - at least the ones i go to...

Oh they play the Rex The Dog mixes at places I would go to... I wouldn't say I've ever been to an all out dance club that plays stuff as indie tinged as your sets though.

hard to find indie-dance agreed. it's normally just one or the either. that said, i can't recall hearing rex the dog remixes in public so that sounds pretty good to me (where you go)

I never heard of the artist or the song. I am into more undeground, independent club/dance music, but it is mostly the more groove oriented, deep house that attracts me the most. What are some of the song you play, indiElectronica? Thanls.

indielectronica, there are a couple of places i would suggest - bugged out maybe, or the t-bar in shoreditch (free) - but then these are probably a bit different to the indie-electro you like... it is hard to find places that play felix da housecat, vitalic, blackstrobe etc, mostly it's either at the rockier end of electro or the housier end. erol alkan is often at bugged out if you like his stuff. i'm going to the adventures in the beetroot field thing at fabric on 5th april, the line up looks great, can't wait to see digitalism. as far as i'm aware, kill em all is back at fabric in may with justice and a couple of others off the ed banger label www.myspace.com/filthydukesi recommend looking through myspace or dontstayin.com, thats what i do to find some new nights. gonna try a breakbeat night over easter weekend with switch of a bit patchy fame! love clubbing, that's what dance music is all about.

bugged out is RIGHT up my alley! (wait till you hear my next session cd!). dunno t-bar will investigate. I am looking at the beetroot field thing at fabric as well... will bring a few friends if i do - but should meet up! The 'Kill em all' is may 18 - but I'll be at ATP that weekend - doh!! www.atpfestival.com/events/vs-the-fans/line_up.php - my first love is indie and will always be that way - but I'm still a big dance fan check out my sessions and let me know your thoughts... they are of similar ilk to what you like

Thanls. here's my last three mixes... www.indielectronicaonline.com/Mixes/Session.htmlworking on #4 now, which is far and away the best i've done yet... have the tracklisting done, just need to find time to do the eq/mastering/effects and it's done! #4 is what i'll be using as my demo to start dj'ing at clubs as well

really like the mixes you've done, god i forgot how good the rex the dog remix of girls is! have you heard his mix of the sounds 'tony the beat' - i'm not sure if i like it or not
see i think i'm the other way - first love dance, but with a bit of rock added to the mix. yep let me know if you go to AITBF - i heard it's selling out but then i bet they always say that! - and we'll have to talk music!
have you heard anything by fox n'wolf - they are on the lineup and what little i've heard i really like - a bit mental though. as well as the stuff in your sessions i;m also really into some of the french label stuff on kitsune and ed banger - the future of dance music as far as i'm concerned! Uffie, Oizo, Justice, Sebastian etc,
well let me know when you've got your 4th mix up, lookin forward to it

I was looking for something to do on timeout on sat and found a KEALGSTO this weekend actually! was at The Junction and looks like that may be the new regular home of it (flyer is here - www.myspace.com/FILTHYDUKES). more copied from there - 'KILL 'EM ALL, LET GOD SORT IT OUT' is night of New Wave, Electro, Punk Funk with residenst SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO. Its every 4th Sat of the month at The Barfly in Camden and bi-monthly in room 1 or 2 at FABRIC LIVE. We also co-promote 'ADVENTURES IN THE BEETROOT FIELD' www.adventuresinthebeetrootfield.com I NEARLY went but ended up on last train from liverpool street and would have been a epic journey (or expensive taxi) to get there and as it was so late I didn't think we'd get in anyways... so - looks like 3-4 times a month there will be nite somewhere i like - superb! no - will look for them, unless you can send it over
