Claude VonStroke - The Whistler
10 December 2007
Claude VonStroke ‘The Whistler’ has been hard to miss over the last few weeks since being the soundtrack to the new T-Mobile marketing campaign.
The TV Advert has people walking around the streets with no heads ‘texting there head off’ and has been on constant rotation all over the terrestrial and digital TV stations. It has already been aired countless times over the last few weeks and continues to run all the way through until December!
‘The Whistler’ originally came from Claude’s own label Dirty Bird. Claude VonStroke, Barclay Crenshaw to his friends, is quickly gaining a reputation of being one of the most original producers/DJ’s of the naughties. Claude won himself massive underground credibility with his first album ‘Beware of The Bird’ of which ‘The Whistler’ was a major feature.
‘The Whistler has been one of the biggest genre crossing records of 2007, happily finding a home on techno, house and hip hop dance floor and being favoured by all the top DJ’s like Erol Alkan, Fatboy Slim and Jon Carter. Erol Alkan featured ‘The Whistler’ on his Mixmag mix cd which was one of the best selling issues of this year! Radio 1 support has come from all the usual suspects including Zane Lowe & Jo Whiley. His first Essential Mix has also just been aired!
Remixes to accompany this release come from Jesse Rose, Diplo, and a brand new mix from rising stars The Aston Shuffle.
The massive demand for the track has become apparent most recently when it was featured as Shazam’s ‘Tag Of The Week’.
Data are very proud to be releasing The Whistler in the UK, digitally on the 3rd December and on Vinyl the 10th December.
