There were less charts this week, I believe. Thus resulting in a few large drops. Yet strangely enough not a lot of high risers, just a couple (Simian + Prince). There were a lot of albums that simply just stayed put though, more than usual. This is more common in an album chart than a single chart though.
The Amy's dominate the top 2 yet again, though switching. Winehouse falls while McDonald breaks the 300 mark, though is still 18 points from beating Winehouse's record of 328 points. Kate Nash is also rising fast. She continually is appearing on more charts and nearly always top 5. Rihanna also gains fast and is another contender for number one. Robyn makes a HUGE debut, already top 5, and I wouldn't doubt that she may hit the top eventually, too. Especially with the huge success of With Every Heartbeat.
This also marks the first time the album chart top 5 is COMPLETELY dominated by female solo artists. Seems like we have a liking for them here.
Not much else interesting inside the top 10. Nelly Furtado slides in nicely at #10 while Arctic Monkeys jump back in. Not sure why they fell out, exactly.
The last noteworthy thing is Architecture in Helsinki debuting at #14. Can they break into the top 10? My guess is on no as the only reason they charted so high was that they were fairly high on 3 different charts. Somehow I don't think more people will be charting them, but hey, who knows.
Which Amy will take the top spot next week? Or will it be Rihanna, Robyn, or Kate? It's up to you. Make sure to post your charts for next week! Or start one if you haven't yet.
