It's time for Round 2 of Euro 2008 predicta!
Here are the rules:
You have to predict whether you think eight games from the Euro 2008 finals will be a Home Win (HW), Draw (D) or Away Win (AW). In this case the "home" team is the first one listed.
Once you have decided on your predicted outcome you must rank from 1-8 on how confident you are of this prediction. You will give a 8 for the prediction you are most confident with and 1 for the prediction you are least confident with. You must give 8 different rankings of 1 to 8. Each number between 1-8 can only be used ONCE.
You will score 10 points for a correct prediction, this will then be multiplied by your confidence level. So 10 x 8= 80 points if you gave a 8 for that correct result. If you give the game a confidence level of 4, you’ll receive 10 x 4 = 40 points etc.
If your prediction is incorrect you will lose 1 x your confidence level. Therefore, if you predicted a HW with a confidence level of 8 and you are incorrect you will lose 8 points. So points can be won and lost in each game!
We will predict from ALL GAMES in Euro 2008 (2 per day in the group stages). Round 1: June 7-10 Round 2: June 11-14 Round 3: June 15-18 Round 4: June 19-21 (Quarter-Finals) Round 5: June 25-29 (Semi-Finals and Final)
If the rules sound complicated please feel free to ask me any questions or PM me directly. It will all make sense as the game begins!
DEADLINE: At the time of the kick-off of the first game in the predictions. If you are late in predicting and miss the first game you can post your scores but they will be scored from 1-7 (in other words you will lose your highest prediction level).
Deadline is 5pm BST on Wednesday.
The Games Wednesday, 11 June 2008 Czech Republic v Portugal, A, 17:00 Switzerland v Turkey, A, 19:45
Thursday, 12 June 2008 Austria v Poland, B, 19:45 Croatia v Germany, B, 17:00
Friday, 13 June 2008 Netherlands v France, C, 19:45 Italy v Romania, C, 17:00
Saturday, 14 June 2008 Greece v Russia, D, 19:45 Sweden v Spain, D, 17:00

RESULTS OF ROUND 1 1. Thor 305 2. Andy 294 3. What A Load Of Box! 294 4. Uncle Fester 272 5. Greendemon 261 6. Frag 250 7. Misterhamster 239 8. Manic Kangaroo 228 9. Robin 195 10. Maximo Mark 184 11. Si 30
Congratulations to Thor, who wins the first round with a good score of 305! The only matches he got wrong were the Group C games; the only person to predict a draw between France and Romania was What A Load Of Box, who was also one of two to correctly predict the Netherlands to win. Everybody correctly predicted Croatia and Spain to win their games, but the game that earned people the most points was Germany v Poland, as half of the predictors put their highest priority on that match.

This seems much harder than the first set. I'd agree with that. Outside the Group of Death, all the matches are between teams who both won, or teams who both lost.

Still very nice to be on top *Resists temptation to make smutty remark* Wow, I did surprisingly well in that first round! If only I'd gone with Germany instead of Poland.
