#36Ashanti - The Declaration![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-15.jpg) One of the most underated albums of the year in my opinion. Ashanti has been one of the biggest female stars of the 21st Century since her debut, achieving hige sales for quality albums, but for some reason, despite not lacking in any quality, her sales aren't at all impressice on this one. The lead single 'The Way That I Love' is one of my top RnB songs of the year and there are plenty of other Jems on the disc aswell. The one that I have to point out is 'Shine'. Such an incredible song that really shows a lot of her vocal ability.

#35Sharleen Spitari![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-16.jpg) I'd never even heard of Texas before now, although I had always been slightly familiar with the song 'Black Eyed Boy' and I'm so glad it rung a bell. Apart from her very strong accent and wicked persona, I think Sharleen is beyond excellent simply for her music, and ability to carry on Solo. 'All The Times I Cried' is an excellent song, and really does give the right impression for the rest of the album which is also brilliant with it's old school sound. My personal favourite song is 'Stop, I Don't Love You Anymore', the second single.

#34Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-17.jpg) I can't really say Im one of those hard core Oasis fans, but I do like a lot of their back catalogue, songs like 'Wonderwall' and 'The Importance of Being Idle' are classics for me. So I was suprised at how much I enjoyed this album, even on first listen. #34 is when we get into the albums that I really loved this year, and see myself continuing to love. None of the tracks hit me as hit single potential, more of an albums album really, but 'Shoch of the Lightning' is fantastic, and 'Im Ouuta Time' as a modern masterpiece in my opinion, and one of the most under appreciated singles of the year, and the same goes for this album. This is definately on my list of albums I must buy next year!

#33Sam Sparro - Sam Sparro![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-18.jpg) This was one of the most unexpected suprises of 2008, and Mr. Sparro one of the best new comers. His single Black and Gold is incredible with a very unique sound a vibe. This same quality continues throughout the album, and despite ot proving to be a commercial success, there are so many more hit's on the album. '21st Century Life' has a lot in contrast witht he first single, and maybe not what people were expecting from him, but songs like 'Sick World' are in a simular league to Black & Gold and have a lot of potential.

#32Alesha Dixon - The Alesha Show![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-19.jpg) Alesha first blew me away with the incredible single 'Knockdown' which should have been a smash hit, but for some reasonmissed it. After Strictly I was preparing myself for the mother of all comebacks and after hearing this album I swear she's made it. For me, nothing quite matches up to 'Knockdown' but 'boy Does Nothing' is so addictive, and 'Breath Slow' is so stunning, and not what I expected. the album is very consistent, and mixes pop with urban perfectly. Other highlights on the album for me are 'Lets Get Excited' and 'Do They Know How It Feels' which is another stunning track!

#31Pink - Funhouse![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-20.jpg) After 'Im Not Dead' this was one of the most anticipated albums of the year for me, and maybe my expectations were to high, because at first listen, I was dissappointed. Theres no denying that it's a good album with incredible upbeats like 'So What', 'Bad Influence' and 'Funhouse' aswell as stunning ballads like 'I Don't Believe You' and my favourite from the whole album, 'Glitter in the Air'. It's an album I can listen to over and over and enjoy, and as time has gone on, I've liked it more and more. It's easy to see a simularity with Im Not Dead, but whether it can live up to this for me is yet to be seen, maybe after a bit more time.

#30Madonna - Hard Candy![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-21.jpg) When this first came out in Spring of last year, I was hooked on it straight away, and had it on repeat a hell of a lot. Infact, it held the #1 spot on this chart for quite a long time. And then the inevitable happened and many more releases I loved even more, and the songs on this disc even got a bit broing to me. So it's not one of those albums that is good forever, but there are songs that I love on this like ' Miles Away', 'Beat Goes On' and my favourite 'Devil Wouldn't Recognize You'. In my opinion she just should have gone back to the days of 'Ray of Light' instead of attempting to stay up-to-date and 'down with the kids'. It almost makes me cringe thinking about her image in this era. She actually IS older than my mum!

#29Day26 - Day26![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-22.jpg) These guys were formed on Diddy's 'Making the Band' and to be honest I was suprised they even got as far as making an album. So I was even more suprised when the album turned out to be one of my favourites of the year. It's full of old school R'n'B jams, and its obvious to see that they've worked well as a group and created incredible harmonys and built chemistry. My favourite has to be 'Got Me Going'. It's a hard hitting club banger and Im gutted it didn't get a UK release. 'Since You've Been Gone' and 'In My Bed' are also really great tracks that I had on repeat earlier this year.

#28Pussycat Dolls - Doll Domination![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-23.jpg) Despite being a little dissappointed with 'When I Grow Up' I wasn't even going to give this album a chance, until I heard 'What You Think About That' which although not being incredible, is a decent enough track, and album of that is good enough for me. Im glad I did give it a listen, because despite a lot of filler, there are a lot of smash songs on this album! 'Bottle Pop' is just fire! Such a catchy song! 'I Hate This Part' is one of my favourite songs of 2008, and my favourite all time PCD song! I love the lyrics in 'I'm Done' and 'Happily Never After'. But for me, one of the biggest stand out's on the album would have to be 'Halo'. It sounds like such an anthem, and has GOT to be a single at some point. Other than that, I also really like the bonus track with New Kids on the Block. Although it seems very simular toe Britney's 'Kill the Lights'.

#27Leon Jackson - Right Now![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-24.jpg) Maybe not the most spectacular release of the year, and the bar was set pretty high by the previous winner Leona, but all in all I have to say I found this album really really good. I wasn't expecting to after 'Don't Believe in Love' which took weeks to grow on me, and was another case of an underwhelming lead single. There are a lot of hidden gems on this album with tracks like 'Right Now', 'Creative' and my absolute favourite track, which has GOT to be a single 'Could Do Better'. Hope he doesn't get dropped and gets another chance at it.

#26Usher - Here I Stand![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-25.jpg) An album I recently purchased, and despite thinking that #26 isn't very high, I truly love this album a lot! One of the top RnB discs of the 21st century in my opinion, and has a much more grown up quiality to it compared to any of his previous efforts. The slow songs and mid-tempos are this albums strongest points with incredible songs like 'Moving Mountains' 'His Mistakes' and my favourite on the album 'Will Work For Love'. But on the other hand, as usual, Usher has provided some pretty good quality up-tempo club bangers aswell (although nothing to match 'Yeah') with songs like 'Whats Your Number' and 'This Isn't Sex'. I really recommend people buying this, even if they were put off by the mediocre lead singles.

#25Mariah Carey - E=MC²![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-26.jpg) It's certainly no Emancipation of Mimi, but in it's own way, this album is a classic. I think the mistake that both Mariah and Usher made this year, was trying to make an album too simular to their previous Mega Hit albums, not taking into account how the industry has changed since. But still, this album had me going crazy all summer! 'Touch My Body' may be one of the most annoying songs of all time, and 'Bye Bye' a pretty all right ballad, but there are so many more incredible tracks on this album, which is why I bought it. 'I'll Be Loving You Long Time' is one of my fave ever Mariah tracks and lifted my summer! Aswell as that, 'Migrate', 'Cruise Control' and 'OOC' are all club bangers! And 'I Wish You Well' is a lovely ballad aswell. I think I'll be playing the Emancipation more than this one though.

#24Donnie Klang - Just A Rolling Stone![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-27.jpg) I was quite suprised by this album this year. After watching him get a solo deal on Making the Band finale, and not really knowing much about the shows format, I predicted that the album would never get made and we'd never hear from him again, which would have been a shame. So when I heard 'Take You There' I was going ape crazy! Club Banger of the year!!! And 'Doctor Love' follows in the same footsteps! My favourite two tracks on the album are without a doubt 'Hollywood Girl' because it sounds like something good enough for Mr. Timberlake to record, and 'Rolling Stone' because that is one smooth tune!

#23Adele - 19![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-28.jpg) 'Chasing Pavements' was one of my favourite songs from 2008, and one year on from when I first heard it, and I still can't get enough of it. The single was only about the second song that I fell in love with in 2008, and really made Adele stamp her mark for me. The album is full of other great songs, and despite a hell of a lot of filler, even the filler tracks have incredible moments. 'Cold Sholder' was a great second single, but nothing comes close to 'Hometown Glory'. That song has such an epic vibe about it and will forever be one of my favourite British Singles. 'Make You Feel My Love' has got to be one of the greatest cover versions of all time, and her voice just sounds so incredible on it! Other than these singles, my favourites would be 'Right As Rain' and 'My Same', the more up-tempo songs on the album that show her in a different, Old School light. Also a noteworthy track for me is 'Tired' which has a completey different sound all together. Very modern and stylish.

#22The Saturdays - Chasing Lights![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-29.jpg) One of the best new acts to come out of 2008. They first hit me with the incredible song 'If This Is Love' which had me going all summer! I expected an album straight after, so when 'Up' came out, I was even mre excited to hear the rest. 'Up' is just as good, if not better then the lead single, so I was a wreck waiting for the album to come out. And it did't dissappoint. It provided with all the up-tempos I expected after the singles with 'Keep Her', 'Lies' and 'Work', as well as my favourite off the album, a mid-tempo 'Chasing Lights'. They also had an increible ballad on the album with 'Issues' set to become another hit for the girls. Overall, one of the best pop albums of 2008, One of the best new acts to appear, and something to look forward to in the future.

#21Jennifer Hudson - Jennifer Hudson![](http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/Crazytowel08/Album%20Covers/untitled-30.jpg) Not the album I was expecting from her. I think it could have been so much better, and they could have really taken advantage of her beyond incredible voice, but they just let the opportunity go and settled for a 'commercial' album. Regardless, it's still ended up being one of my favourites of the year. Carried mainly on the back of 'Spotlight' which has been one of my favourite songs from 2008, and probably ever. The album has other hit song potetial with the stunning 'If This Isn't Love' and the phenomenal 'Pocketbook' which I've had on repeat for such a long time! Theres also some pretty brilliant ballads on it with 'Can't Stop the Rain', 'Giving Myself', 'You Pulled Me Through' and 'Invisible'. The other songs that I have to mention are obviously 'And I'm Telling You' which is out of this world, and the insanely catchy 'All Dressed In Love' from the Sex and the City movie. Oh, and she looks stunning on the album cover aswell!
