Are there any acts that you think featured in your personal chart before they were in anyone else's chart?
Name them below and if you're one of those that keeps a record of these things, give dates, so we can see who "broke" who!
(Obviously, listing acts that have never actually been in anyone else's chart, or reached the official charts, is a bit pointless, so don't bother.)

I dont keep a record that far back But I thinK The Coral, Kings Of Leon ,Coldplay and Maximo Park all charted with their very 1st singles for me so I'll claim joint with MrHam, i'll take the win for Snow Patrol though they made my top 50 with "Starfighter Pilot" in 1998
I'll give you the rest though.

I also charted 'The Coast Is Always Changing' in November 2004....
Off the top of my head I charted The Feeling in late 2005 with the original release of 'Fill My Little World' and Little Boots last August. I imagine she'll be in loads of charts soon, if not already. Although I'm sure Dead Disco have been charted by someone before so depends whether you count them or not...

I was pretty confident someone would have charted Snow Patrol earlier.

Sorry misterhamster but both the Bees and the Coral had hits in my chart in 2001.
Did I chart Katy Perry first? Ur So Gay reached NM #3 in November 2007.

Just checked:
The Coral made their NM debut on 2 December 2001 with The Oldest Path The Bees made their NM debut on 14 July 2001 with Punchbag Katy Perry's actual NM debut was 1 December 2007 with Ur So Gay
One other I probably charted first:
Turin Brakes made their NM debut on 26 August 2000 with The Boss
I also charted some the same time as misterhamster:
Zutons - 24 May 2003 Kings Of Leon - 1 March 2003 Scissor Sisters - 1 November 2003 Gossip - 22 July 2006
presumably with the same singles that misterhamster charted. Thorney generally has the edge as he charts them pre-release.

One other I probably charted first: Turin Brakes made their NM debut on 26 August 2000 with The Boss Fantastic band - and you beat me on that one! Underdog was the first one I charted. I charted False Alarm by KT Tunstall a while before she hit the Top 40 with Black Horse And Cherry Tree. And if anyone elses charts go back that far the "Alice" EP by Sleeper in 1993, a good 18 months before "Inbetweener" became a hit.

Charted Dead Disco with "The Treatment" March/April 2006... Went to #1 and spent 3 weeks there! I charted "Meddle" last Summer also! Same with the Feeling...

I match MrH with Kate Nash who I first charted in February 2007 (Caroline's A Vicitim / Birds). Also in that month I first charted Bat for Lashes (Prescilla), who now over 2 years later has finally bagged her first official Top 40 hit!
I think me and Maximo Mark were the first to chart the Guillemots (September 2005, with the "I Saw Such Things In My Sleep EP")
Acts first charted last year that may go on to big things soon:
FrankMusik June 2008 // "In Step" // 46-41-28-22-26-37-47 (7 weeks)
Little Boots July 2008 // "Meddle" // 44-33-22-14-12-21-28-43 (8 weeks)
Magistrates July 2008 // "Make This Work" // 47-34-25-18-12-08-15-26-39-50 (10 weeks)
VV Brown September 2008 // "Crying Blood" // 44-27-17-09-07-07-03-04-06-14-23-30-39-37-43 (15 weeks)

On 9 February 2002, both Death Cab For Cutie and Biffy Clyro made their NM chart debuts, as did Richard Hawley as a solo artist.
