Jason Derulo has switched to dancey music too. Sampling "Show Me Love" (again!) this song is expected to be a big hit this summer.

And also sampling Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) which has recently been done by Lil Wayne. What with the Robin S sample it's 0 out of 10 for originality

It's not very original but dance music's success continues this year

wrong wrong wrong can't people write their own music? or at least sample something original? that's why I really like the current music scene with people like Katy B, Nero or Chase & Status, at least they're original, but dance music based on other people's samples is wrong imho things like this or Guetta's Sweat or the BEP's Dirty Dancing crap are ruining dance music

Using familiar samples is one way of guaranteeing bigger sales

Look at it positively. They bring old hits (or just samples) that people really like in a shape of modern music. That's why these songs become popular - people do love these samples while at the same time they are already tired of original versions. Besides, if there were no "commercial" music, original artists like Nero and other mentioned above would never stand out so much.
