Which of these songs in the year 1966 in your view should not have been #1, I am doing polls for the whole Sixties this time, once we have 10 winners (we have to split up some years there is not enough options on a poll to match the #1's in a year plus joint winners) we will have a last poll to decide which song out of the years 1960-1969 should not have been #1.
These are 3 day polls this time.
Happy Voting

I have voted, and it wasn't for either of the Sinatras.

Voted for an awful cover version of a song, whose original is now very twee and dated.

Surprised that I was the only one to vote for Yellow Submarine ! It's very Barney (Purple Dinosaur) sounding.
I don't know Distant Drums.

You wouldn't want to know it, PurpleCareBear. "Eleanor Rigby" is one of the Beatles greatest songs. I was wondering who here has been voting for Beatles songs.

"Distant Drums" only got to number one because Jim Reeves had died. Typical pathetic public reaction to celebrate someone when they're dead rather than when they're alive.
I agree "Yellow Submarine" is pathetic, towards the end some Beatles singles seemed to be released as a Vanilla experiment. "Lady Madonna" in particular is dire. Yet they still came up with their best work at times...
