Which males would you have shortlisted?

Which males would you have shortlisted? I'm not necessarily knocking the three that have been chosen just pointing out the typical BBC knee-jerk reaction of picking an all-female shortlist after the fuss over the SPOTY contenders. For what it's worth, from the 10 that were originally chosen, Jack Laugher and Anthony Watson were both worth a place.

To be fair, of there were no females sportspeople good enough they shouldn't be on the list, if there weren't good enough young fells, shouldn't be on the list.
So badly PC. Should go on talent not genre.

But obviously not good enough. More like they were over the heads of the ignorant morons who masquerade as sports journalists in this country.

I wonder how many are now wishing they hadn't nominated Amir Khan...?

For what it's worth, from the 10 that were originally chosen, Jack Laugher and Anthony Watson were both worth a place. The shortlist of three for the Young SPOTY has been announced - Lucy Garner (Cycling), Eleanor Simmonds (Swimming) and Lauren Taylor (Golf). I demand a pubic inquiry into why all the contenders are female. This is an outrageous slur on all the young male competitors up and down the country. I know this comment by suedehead was made tongue in cheek, but I did find it interesting that Oliver Golding our junior US Open winner (tennis) wasn't on the shortlist. I may be wrong but i'm sure that Murray was when he won the same event in 2004...

Apologies, i thought he was still 17, but having double checked he actually turned 18 a few months ago. Didn't realise that though, but it seems a shame as he was 17 when he won the title.
