"Eve of the Daleks" is tomorrow, then there's a special to be shown around Easter and one for the 100th anniversary of the BBC which airs in Autumn.

So just me that thinks John Bishop couldn't be more wooden if he tried, an actor he is not.

Clive Dunn who would have turned 102 today in a Dr Who sketch as William Hartnell's Doctor William Hartnell would have turned 114 yesterday

So just me that thinks John Bishop couldn't be more wooden if he tried, an actor he is not. And yet he is. He's starred in some proper stuff, like Jimmmy McGovern's "Accused" nearly a decade ago and he was terrific.

I know, but he sounded absolutely awful in this, and to me he's a stand up comedian, so I was kind of waiting for him to say, "what's this load of b*ll*x?" But thankfully it was just in the background while I found something else to watch, pleased it's doing well, just not for me any more.

I'm not over keen on John Bishop in it, but I did love Aisling Bea in the New Years' episode. If they made her a permanent character then I'd watch it all the time!

Shame you can't move beyond him being a stand-up to see that he's quite a decent actor.

When I notice he's a decent actor, I'll say so, the bit I saw in Doctor Who, he wasn't. Just have to hope wood worm never get near him...

Forces TV have also run UFO and Blakes 7 recently as well. I have all of Blakes 7 on DVD. I reckon it must be time for another re-run! Jenna was always my favourite, I was gutted when she left after the second series.
