Group C Zambia 1-1 Ethiopia Nigeria 1-1 Burkina Faso
Ethiopia missed a penalty and had their goalkeeper sent off (while he was on a stretcher!) before Zambia took the lead before just half-time. However, Ethiopia levelled in the second half.
Nigeria took the lead after 23 minutes but were reduced to 10 men in the second half (after Efe Ambrose picked up his second yellow card). Burkina Faso levelled with pretty much the last kick of the game.

Another 1-1 draw or did the Togans score a winner after having a goal cruely denied as the sub Kalou didn't make his way on the pitch by the time the corner was taken?.

Group D Cote d'Ivoire 2-1 Togo Tunisia 1-0 Algeria
Cote d'Ivoire went ahead early on, Togo levelled just before half time, then Gervinho's late winner gave Cote d'Ivoire all 3 points. Togo did nearly equalise right at the end, though.
Tunisia scored in injury time despite Algeria having had the better of the match up until then.

Tunisia v Algeria was an abysmal match, they spent more time kicking each other and rolling around/falling over than trying to play football, amazing goal to win it though!

Group A South Africa 2-0 Angola Morocco 1-1 Cape Verde
Platini (real name Luis Carlos Almada Soares) put Cape Verde ahead in the first half, but Morocco levelled in the second half.
South Africa are through to the knockout stages unless Cape Verde and Morocco both win their final games. Angola are out unless they beat Cape Verde and Morocco fail to beat SA. A draw will be enough for Cape Verde unless Morocco either win or manage a higher-scoring draw. A win for Cape Verde will definitely be enough. Morocco will be through if they win, or both games finish as draws and Morocco's is higher-scoring.

Group B Ghana 1-0 Mali Niger 0-0 Congo DR
The only goal in either match came from a first-half penalty for Ghana. Niger v Congo wasn't bad for a 0-0 draw, though (it could have gone a lot differently if Niger had scored after 4 minutes instead of hitting the post!).
Ghana will go through if they avoid defeat to Niger. They could still go through if they lose and Congo v Mali is a draw, depending on goal difference etc. Mali need to avoid defeat to Congo. A draw will be enough unless Niger beat Ghana, in which case goal difference etc come into play. Congo will go through if they win, out if they don't. Niger need to win to stand any chance. A win will be enough unless Congo v Mali is a draw, in which case goal difference etc will come into play.

Group C Zambia 1-1 Nigeria Burkina Faso 4-0 Ethiopia
Nigeria missed a penalty in the first half, and took the lead in the second half, before Zambia levelled with a penalty close to the end. Burkina Faso managed to thrash Ethiopia despite having their goalkeeper sent off for handball on the hour.
Permutations are pretty much the same as Group A.

I thought the handball was harsh, I always thought your feet had to be outside the area, not your hands/body in the air?

Not sure about that but surely the only way you can give the decision is if you see his feet outside the box or how could you be 100% its outside the box

Group D Cote d'Ivoire 3-0 Tunisia Algeria 0-2 Togo
Just like in their game against Tunisia, Algeria seemed to have most of the possession and chances, however they could not convert them, unlike Togo who scored in the first half. In the second half, Algeria did manage to get something into the Togo net - unfortunately, it was one of the players who inadvertently damaged the goal, necessitating a lengthy stoppage. The officials then added far too much stoppage time (the game finished about half an hour after it should have done, and the second-half stoppages were nowhere near that long), during which time Togo scored again. Algeria are therefore out, and Cote d'Ivoire will finish top of Group D (thanks to head-to-heads being the first tie-break), and will in fact know their QF opponents before they start their game against Algeria. Togo v Tunisia is winner-takes-all, with Togo advancing in the event of a draw.

Group A Morocco 2-2 South Africa Cape Verde 2-1 Angola
South Africa twice came from behind to draw with Morocco and guarantee their progress. Cape Verde scored an own goal in the first half, and were still trailing with 10 minutes to go, but came back, winning in stoppage time to book their place in the last 8. South Africa top the group on goal difference, Morocco depart unbeaten, and Angola depart without any of their players having scored a goal.

Group B Niger 0-3 Ghana Congo DR 1-1 Mali
Ghana top the group with a convincing win over Niger, who go out without scoring a goal. Mali join them after coming back from conceding an early penalty to draw with Congo DR, who are eliminated without losing a game.

Group C Burkina Faso 0-0 Zambia Ethiopia 0-2 Nigeria
Burkina Faso top Group C on goal difference after their goalless draw with Zambia, meaning that they avoid Ivory Coast in the next round. They will be joined by Nigeria, who beat Ethiopia thanks to 2 late penalties, the second of which resulted in Ethiopia's goalkeeper Sisay Bancha receiving his second yellow card inside the space of 4 minutes, thus becoming the second Ethiopian goalie to be sent off in this tournament (in fact all 3 of Ethiopia's games have seen a goalie sent off). As Ethiopia had used all 3 substitutions, an outfield player went in goal, meaning that Ethiopia used 4 different goalies in their 3 games. Zambia (the defending champions) join Morocco and Congo DR in going out unbeaten.

Group D Algeria 2-2 Cote d'Ivoire Togo 1-1 Tunisia
The unimportant match between Algeria and Cote d'Ivoire was goalless until 64 minutes, when Algeria scored a penalty. They added another 6 minutes later, before Cote d'Ivoire fought back. Togo took an early lead before Tunisia levelled with a penalty in the first half. Tunisia then missed a penalty in the second half. The referee booked the wrong player for the challenge (the player who should have been booked had already been booked), and then booked 2 further Togolese players for dissent. Togo thus go through on goal difference.
Last 2 Quarter-Finals: Cote d'Ivoire v Nigeria Burkina Faso v Togo
The winners of the matches involving South Africa and Cote d'Ivoire will play each other in the semis.

The refereeing in Africa is awful. Worst thing is that the togo mistake was from a RSA ref who refs major league matches. He is seen as good as Africa has... sad times for African officiating.
